Cowboys should draft Charles and Finley

Jamaal would be a great complement to Marion Barber and would probably give Dallas the cliched "Thunder and Lightening" running back combo instead of the Thunder and Drizzle they have now.

A team with Jason Witten has no business drafting a TE in the first few rounds.

With the Cowboys history of taking very few if any Horns there is no concern of this happening anyway. I like Charles and Sweed but do not feel they are first round picks.

Charles would be great if he fell to the Cowboys in the 2nd round, but I doubt he falls that far.

In the first round, WR and CB are too much of a need compared to backup RB. If Limas or Kelly is available when the 'Boys pick it will be tempting. Reggie Smith from OU will be tempting as well at S/CB with the other pick. The WR/CB/RB combos are endless and we should't drive ourselves crazy waiting to see what Jerry does, because we know how that goes on draft day.

Finley will go 3rd or 4th round to a team that needs him a lot more than the Cowboys, which will be better for his career.

Oh, and PS... you keep insisting that I've said JC was a 1st round back.... please. Find it. Link it. Quote it.

Good freaking luck.

I've even pointed out the backs that I think are better. IMO, JC and F.Jones are extremely similar... maybe so similar as to be an equal grade.... JC was a little more productive, but FJ had a better YPC and plays STs. FJ played with the best RB prospect in the draft, JC played in a conference that is schematically easier to run in (more nickel D's and spread O's). JC's faster, but FJ is stockier and (hypothetically) stronger.

I like Stewart with the first pick. If not Kelly with the first, BPA with the second 1st, then Jamal in the 2nd.

I often wonder why expectations for the Longhorns are so blindly optomistic at times. Seeing this post helps me understand a little better.

There are actually people out there who believe JC and JF are first-round NFL picks. I don't know what you people do for a living, but don't leave your position to apply for an NFL draft position, because you obviously don't watch the league much. And you certainly don't know the draft value of certain positions, particularly the draft needs of certain teams.

JC is hopefully a 2nd round pick, but I would be no more surprised to see him go in the 4th as I would the 2nd. No way JF goes in the first 3 rounds, unless someone wants to take a flyer with an extra pick. He has not proven enough to merit anything higher.

I hope I am wrong for their sake, but some of you out there are buried way-deep in your burnt orange house and need to get a little fresh air once in a while.
