Cowboys get Pacman for...

now all they need to do is sign ryan perilloux. maybe they can get an early release brokered and sign maurice clarett?

Match made in heaven. Just another reason not to cheer for Dallas and to like Tenn more. Hope Tenn goes out and gets some WR's now.

win at all costs...

This is why I can't root for the cowboys, and why I am lucky to be a spurs fan. There are so few organizations any more that value good guys over good players. Whatever happened to win the right way with the right guys???

If he somehow stays out of trouble, it is like getting two players in one: above average cover corner and an elite kick returner.

Now, Jerry needs to extend Newman's contract and draft another CB on the 1st day.

I agree that CB is definitely still in the Day 1 fold, but not a certainty in round 1 anymore. Here's how I would do 'er if things played out accordingly:

22. Jonathan Stewart
28. Kenny Phillips
61. Justin King, CB, Penn St
92. Mario Manningham

This is an extremely safe trade the Cowboys made.

- A 4th rounder is nothing to give up for a player that was the #6 overall pick in the 2005 Draft and many consider to be an elite DB and return man.

- If he isn't reinstated then the Cowboys are given a pick back by the Titans and no big deal.

- If he is reinstated and manages to not screw up again and reach certain levels of performance then they give up another 2nd day pick. Again, nothing that will cripple the Cowboys future by any means.

- If he screws up again, he gets cut, no big salary hit, and it's just as if they used it on someone in the draft who didn't pan out. Again, no big deal.

The Cowboys came out smelling like roses on this deal any which way it goes IMHO.

I have heard reports that say the Cowboys will get a 5th round pick next year if PacMan is reinstated, then does something during the season to screw up. If true, this seems like a big concession on Tennessee's part and further insurance for Dallas..

"Um, maybe the Raiders of old. But these Cowboys win. These days the Raiders LOSE. "

Um, exactly...the Cowboys have now become the scum of the NFL. The Raiders are losing now b/c they won't take on character issue guys like this. Maybe Jerry should call Al and ask how much for the rights to "Just Win Baby"

Rentzel was cut by the Cowboys right after exposing himself to the 10 year old girl. I believe he played a couple of more years with the Rams.

I still remember the "Keep It In Your Pants, Lance" bumper stickers rolling around Dallas after he was arrested.

It depends on whether Pacman is just a jerk or has a screw loose. If he is just a jerk, putting all that money on the line might get him to stay out of trouble. Even jerks understand the tenuous nature of money. If he has a screw loose he won't be able to control himself when **** happens, and **** always happens, to everybody.

I don't see a downside to this trade for Dallas. If Pacman gets it, he knows this IS the last chance, and he does nothing but play. He's very good in two areas of need for Dallas. If Pacman still believes he's ten feet tall, bulletproof, and invisible, after everything he's gone thru the last two or three years, and starts hitting the joints on Northwest Highway, Dallas cuts it's losses, in essence gets the draft picks back, and moves on down the road. What's not to like about that deal? Now, if they can just persuade T.D. Jakes to babysit Pacman for the next couple of years.....
