Let's take turns, hell seven people could do one a week. We are so lazy.

It's hotter than the proverbial firecracker but there's been a faint scent of college football in the air lately. By my count, we're down to 67 days till gameday.

Of course those of us who sat through UCLA 97 won't appreciate this. :puke:

My daughter, who was 5 at the time, ended up saving me from having to witness the slaughter in person. We got into Austin late Friday night and checked into our hotel. She apparently picked up a stomach bug along the way and commenced to throwing up all night. We had planned to leave our kids with friends during the game but decided we couldn't expose our friend's kids to whatever my daughter picked up. Went down to the stadium early Saturday morning and was able to sell my tickets. Got back in the car and drove home. Was on the couch before the game started. Her sickness was a premonition for the game. Never have been so glad that my kid got sick. I think that hotel room still qualifies for a toxic waste dump.

One of the members of my season tix block of 12 back in 97 had severe anger issues. The kind his wife eventually demanded he seek counseling to avoid divorce.

For UCLA he and his wife were hotly arguing all morning at our parking garage tailgate.

My vivid memories of Route 66 mostly come from watching/hearing this guy totally flip out play after disastrous play.

At the start of the 2nd half UCLA scored to go up 45-0 and he quickly removed himself downstairs to avoid a meltdown.

At the start of the 4th I noticed him walking back up the steps looking composed. After all we'd just kicked a FG to cut the lead to 45-3...momentum. :smile1:

As soon as he reached our row UCLA scored, he turned right back around and walked all the way to Holiday Inn Crown Plaza (Town Lake) where he was staying.

While the game sucked profusely, the entertainment from his countless eruptions and humorous early departure are the only parts I recall in detail.

One of the greatest Longhorns of all-time and, arguably, the greatest Longhorn defensive player of all-time.
