Cotton Bowl: Horns-Buckeyes Game Thread

I'm very concerned with the interview I read about with Sark after the game. His comments that the pitch play at the goal line should have worked if it was blocked correctly bothers me. But Sark, if it isn't blocked correctly it loses 7 yards therefore making it a boneheaded call. Be accountable, learn from your mistakes. That's what I want him to do.
On another note: how about Arch under center, Broughton and Norton lined up behind him and a tush push? Seems pretty hard to stop from a yard out, IMO.
Yes, I played QB in high school. Now I play one on Monday mornings. :e-hookem:
But did you sleep at a Holiday Inn last night? :lmao:

Cam Williams had his struggles this year. But lots of big uglies come into their own late.
Hope he is here next year. Continuity on the OL is usually a good thing.

Just had a thought about how NIL is changing the college landscape.
"Skill" position players used to be more prone to declaring early. Now they aren't because they are getting paid big bucks in college.
Whereas lineman typically needed the 4th or 5th year to mature.
But since they don't get as much NIL cheddar they may be more prone to declaring early than skill position players.

My favorite play from inside the 2 yard line is the RB diving high over the pile for the TD. You haven't seen this much since the 1970s-early 80s as it can be rather dangerous for the RB. But we did it at least once earlier this season, with success. The fact that the interior DTs on the other side are firing out low/submarining actually helps us. Only a stud LB in the right place at the right time can stop it.

We need to practice and use this play when we're at the 1 or 2 yard line. We could also use a WR to dive high over the pile.
And sometimes that does not work. Johnny Treadwell and Pat Culpepper against Arkansas in 1962.
