You ARE dismissive. I stated that "many" health care providers are requiring the influenza vaccination as a condition of employment. You responded with a mocking "yeah, right". I provided a 3+ year old data point that highlighted that, in fact, 61% are requiring that as a condition of employment. Maybe this is this how you are. If so, I bet you're a ******* hoot at your wife's work Christmas party.

I actually am fun to be around when not discussing retarded stuff like covid. I have met several people here who may or may not agree, I don't know.

Can it stop future mutations is what I want to know. The current shot doesn't seem to stop spread well. It seems now that it can only reduce symptoms and death to a certain point but how much longer can we rely on that the way the virus mutates? We have to get something better or that Omicron ends the pandemic.

The good news is that the future mutations are going to continue to trend like omnicron - more contagious, less dangerous.

Now that is good to hear. That was probably the case all along. But now you have Chicago requiring vaccine passports. This is where it is hard to understand why if what you say is true they do something as ludicrous as that.

Never had to prove vaccination status on anything to go into any businesses in my lifetime. Why now?

I'll vouch for hic - I've met him at one of the Hornfans outings in Grapevine. He's a decent guy.

Just for the record - I have great confidence in my PCP. When the vaccine became available last Spring, he advised us to get the shots. So Karen and I both got the set of shots (Pfizer) - with no ill effects. He also advised us this Fall to get the booster shots - so we did that, again with no ill effects.
I'm retired USAF, so keeping shot records current was not a big deal for me - getting shots was required for worldwide mobility status, so it was no big deal getting the COVID shots. I respect the right of each individual to make his own decision.

I do as well. I respect people less who speak with the authority of a PCP when they have no formal medical education.
 
My son has a friend that is part of an air crew for a private airline out of Austria. They flew to Hong Kong and one of the passengers tested positive for Covid. All crew and passengers have been sent to a "Quarantine Camp". The Austrian government has filed a compliant with Hong Kong and the Chinese authorities. Fat chance on anything happening there. They could be held until January 6th or later.

This does not appear to be a small camp.

I also only wear the mask when required at work - in public spaces I get it but we're 100% vaccinated so I can be lax. I do wear it in some stores to show a little solidarity with the poor staff. I also don't look to the mask as a protector TO me but as a protector to people around me FROM me.
