Cleveland vs. Orlando

LA vs. Denver

Coming off a 7 games series LA will get only 1 day of rest before starting their next series with Denver. Denver has been off for about a week. That may end up making Denver look a bit rusty at the start of the series but it may make LA look tired by the end of it. Denver is a high scoring offense and has only scored less than 106 points once so far this post season....they lost that game. Billups and Carmelo have been sensational. These 2 players are large for their position and provide matchup problems for many teams. Anderson, Martin, and Nene give them size on the interior that allows them to matchup with any team. Denver has looked shaky on the road and LA looks unbeatable at home. Since LA has the home court advantage this series that could be the difference. I think the perimeter defense of Melo and Chauncey will cause LA problems and issue for LA will be in finding the open shooter and not forcing contested outside shots. This should be a great series to watch. Up and down the court and with a ton on the line for LA. Denver has already made their season by making this far. LA needs to win a championship or it is a disappointment.

Orlando vs. Cleveland starts on Wednesday. Cleveland is spectacular at home. They have had about a week of rest and they didn't need it. There is absolutely no way Cleveland drops game 1 and I would say they are up 2-0 easy. Question will then be how Orlando responds and if Orlando can continue to shoot well. Howard has been amazing this post season and killed Boston on the boards. Cleveland will want to keep the points low and control the tempo. If Orlando can score over 100 points in a game then this bodes well for them. Lebron just seems on an unstoppable path to the Finals right now. Hard to pick Orlando.

The first two games of the Den-LA series will feature some final scores like 117-109 and 115-112. Then they'll start defending each other from Game 3 onward. Derek Fisher finally gets a "break" from running around, unfortunately it's against a better player this round. Carmelo will have some Jekyll/Hyde acts in this series, but still get his points. JR Smith poses more problems than Martin/Nene. Kobe will probably average 32 ppg in this series, but it might not matter in the end. Whoever wins this series does it at home, either in Game 6 or Game 7.

Cleveland is going to have their way with the Orlando swingmen/guards. Dwight Howard might be enough to pull out two wins in the series, but I wouldn't bet on it. Cleveland in 5.

I've been a Laker fan since before I could walk.

I've tried but I can't root against them. I'm not delusional though - they are the softest team in the NBA. They win on pure talent; which ain't a bad thing, I guess. Although they struggled against a depleted Rockets team, they have Denver's number. Denver hasn't proven that they can handle LA, so I don't see them pulling the upset.

Cleveland v Orlando: I don't care.

Thuggets in 6.

Yi, yi, yi...would like like to say Magic but don't think the NBA will allow it...Cavs in 6.

Hook'em!!!

Before the playoffs started I would have picked Orlando in this matchup - Cleveland's few troubles this year have come at the hands of teams with good post presence. But after seeing Orlando take 7 games to handle a depleted Boston team, I've changed my mind.

I ******* hate the lakers, and their jerkoff fans. Same fan set at USC.

Hope Denver can hold on tonight, and sweep the rapist and co.

kobe got d wade '06 finals treatment in the 4th quarter tonight. pathetic. i'd say he was fouled twice out of the 6 or so fouls called on him...

The Lakers better hold home court because I can see the Nuggets murdering them in Denver. That flop by Gasol in the 4th was pure cheese.

Anybody who thinks these games are not fixed or the NBA tells the refs how to decide them is crazy. The Lakers got every call in the last three minutes. The Nuggets were just laughing at how preposterous some of these calls were. The clean block on Martin is a perfect example. The reach in of Martin on Kobe is another example. The charge of Melo against Gasol when Gasol is leaning with a shoulder into Melo was a joke. The Nuggets were playing 5 against 8.

For full disclosure, I hate the Nuggets. Not a big fan of the Lakers either, but I like them better than the Nuggets. I do hate the NBA and playoff refs. It is ridiculous.

Give me a ******* break. That was a stupid foul Martin committed and everyone knew it. He didn't even try to argue...and this is Kenyon Martin we're talking about.

Melo call was iffy, but Pau was outside the restricted area...and he had his arms down.

Bunch of haters.

I think you are drinking too much of the ESPN koolaid. Just because the commentators say it is a foul (and a stupid foul at that), does not make it a foul. Do you think it is a coincidence that they did not replay the foul but maybe one time and it was a horrible angle. By that time Martin just had to smile at the unbelievable calls that were being made. He did not argue but he certainly gave a look of complete and utter bewilderment and then just had to laugh at how stupid that call was. Do you really think that in a tie game with 30 seconds left that the referees should be making that call? Give me a ******* break.

A reach in is a reach in. Hell yeah you call that. You let that go and you just give the other team a free layup. It was a dumb play by Martin, period.

It is apologizers like you guys that let the NBA get away with this crap. Every questionable call went against the Nuggets. It was just sickening to watch and you could see the frustration on the faces of the Nuggets when they started to realize there was nothing they could do and they were playing against the Lakers and the refs.

Again, I am not a Nuggets fan. I try to be a NBA fan but games like last night make it very difficult.
