Comments on Cowherd

I'm sure that this has been posted before but wanted to vent a little. I don't listen to Collin Cowherd much but when I do, I always feel like he doesn't really watch the games or even the sports that he is commenting on. He makes these sweeping generalities (often wrong in my opinion) that he never backs up by specific references.

As an example: I can't remember exactly what day it was this week but he was talking about how tough local media can make a sports team better and mentioned that the Bay area media was soft and thus San Francisco sports are terrible. Granted, they haven't won a championship in a while but the Warrior made it to the playoffs two straight years and the giants played in a World Series this decade. I'm not from the Bay area and don't follow their teams so I have no idea whether the San Francisco media is soft on their sports teams but I can't agree with Cowherd's assessment that they've had "no success for decades."

Anyone else have an opinion on Cowherd?

I listen to 'Herd almost everyday- he gets on my nerves sometimes but its not a bad show.

He's really not very bright though (what does that say about me). He is good about creating a "paper tiger" and then he spends 4 hours tearing it up. If you don't take him too serious- it ain't bad radio.

his ENTIRE show is taking his sports analysis and making analogies to "the guy at work who...the chick on your block that...the watch you want but can't afford..., etc".

it is unnerving. once i noticed that the analogies are so abundant, it is all i can hear now.

The one thing about him is that he pimps college football. Of course, when he does he screws it up half the time...

Oh, and the "I don't know how to work a coffee machine" technophobe bit gets a little old.

i was listening that day as well. His theory is probably more of a coincidence than anything. Pretty easy to pick out a 'bad' sports town in the USA and then compare them to say the New York media.

It is pretty funny how he throws hit hate towards WV fan and tOSU fan.

I agree with the above statement... it is a good show but dont look in to it too much.

It's kind of amazing how no sports fan I've ever talked to has liked him and yet he still has a sucessful show.

I can't really give an opinion. He is just another one of the ESPN talking heads I don't watch. I turn the channel on if there is a game I want to watch. However, Rome, PTI and the rest of these self appointed experts giving their opinion about stuff is absolutly boring to me.

I haven't listened to this d-bag since he reported the Vince Young had missed spring ball for grades, when it actuality it was Selvin. Came back the next day and retracted his statement but never really acted sincere or apologized.

I hate that *******... more than anyone else in radio, tv or print... I can't listen for more than 5 minutes before he makes some ridiculous comment that makes me change the station... he is a complete idiot...

I wish I had a tape from August 2005 when Cowherd said that the one team in the AP Preseason Top 10 that didn't impress him was Texas.

Good one, Colin. The one team you didn't think belonged in the Top 10 went on to become one of the greatest teams of all time.
