Watching TV commentary tonight and hearing things like, "If Colt McCoy is the go-to guy on offense, Texas is in real trouble against OU and Missouri..." I like that we are still getting no respect in the media. Can't wait till next week! BEAT COLORADO! GATA every week baby!

Well they are right. You don't want to have to rely on your QB to make plays with his feet in Big 12 play. Unless of course you have another super star arm as his backup.

I think it is stupid to think that one of the Texas RBs won't step up to fill that void on the 11th of next month. Texas better come up with a running game by then and I suspect they will.

Colt is the best dual threat QB in the country...one of the best, if not the best, playmaker in the Big XII. People weren't saying this when we had VY and the SY/RT/JC committee.

Give the ball to your playmakers.

Check that, Lou Holtz thinks we should be #3. Sooner does raise a good point, but I agree that Colt is THE dual-threat QB in the country. However, this team seems to have the intagibles to get it done. Their attitude kinda takes me back to the Shock The World group.

I liked the end of the Georgia-Bama game. Talking about what the top 5 will look like... they mention OU, they mention LSU, they mention Bama, they mention Mizzou... and that's it. That's their top 5 list

And just now, Mark May claimed we weren't a top 5 team.

yeah oklahoma has never had their qb be a primary running threat.

who gives a **** who is running the ball as long as we're productive? colt can get hurt just as easily standing in the pocket as he can running downfield.

desmond howard must really not like the big 12 as he has penn st. at 4 ahead of mizzou at 5 with texas somewhere after that.

Well, so we know now what script ESPin has Mark May reading this year. It will be anti-Texas, despite how he may really feel. Lou will be on our bandwagon, Mark won't. They will read what is put in front of them with great acting ability.

If we beat ou we got lucky, we will lose to Mizzou. If we lose, he told us so. Scratch that, the script writers said so. I don't hate on their "announcers" any longer for their takes on us or others nor do I praise them for saying things I like. They are just entertainment. Some there are meat and potato types who state their mind.

But in the studio they are about entertainment and stirring things up. Take it at face value. But at least we know Mark's role this year regarding us.

I think the thing that makes McCoy's so feet valuable is it keeps the defense in check. He's completing passes at nearly an 80% clip, so it isn't like he is just doing it with his feet alone. He could be putting up 350 yards a game in the air if he just sat back and chunked the rock. Moving the chains forces teams to play honest and prevents them from being able to drop extra guys back and makes them cautious about how they blitz our line.

I didn't say Colt McCoy shouldn't take what is offered when there is nothing else. He has shown some good speed and it would be a shame to waste it. But relying on a QB to run is a dangerous proposition.

Yes I remember Tebow last season and I remember how banged up he was before it was over also.

My memory is fine and I remember 2005 as well as 2004 and 2003. The 2005 QB you are referencing didn't have the arm Mr McCoy does either. He also wasn't immune to injury.

With regards to Mark May, I think his opinions on all things college football can be dismissed when he calls Lou Holtz out for being a Notre Dame homer, then immediately turns around and starts a segment on how USC should still be considered for the NC game (2 days after their loss to an unranked team, no less).
