McCabe is getting off scott-free
Meanwhile, Stone & Manafort will die in jail

Nations do not last forever.
That is the reality.
When they tell the story of the breakup of the US, having one set of laws for normal people and one set of laws for people in the government club will be part of the story of our downfall. Nations do not survive like this.

I'm just hoping Barr and Durham are looking to get McCabe on something bigger and don't want to screw around with the small stuff.

It's something at least ....

Barr Installs Outside Prosecutor to Review Case Against Michael Flynn, Ex-Trump Adviser

Attorney General William P. Barr has assigned an outside prosecutor to scrutinize the criminal case against President Trump’s former national security adviser Michael T. Flynn, according to people familiar with the matter.

* * *
Mr. Barr has also installed a handful of outside prosecutors to broadly review the handling of other politically sensitive national-security cases in the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington, the people said. The team includes at least one prosecutor from the office of the United States attorney in St. Louis, Jeff Jensen, who is handling the Flynn matter, as well as prosecutors from the office of the deputy attorney general, Jeffrey A. Rosen.

Over the past two weeks, the outside prosecutors have begun grilling line prosecutors in the Washington office about various cases — some public, some not — including investigative steps, prosecutorial actions and why they took them, according to the people. They spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive internal deliberations.

Cernovich's tweet below points to the result you get from the Govt's unwillingness to hold hold McCabe to the same standard as non-Govt persons in the same position. Two-tier systems of justice are the direct cause of this. This is how civil society breaks down (by my take -- juries and income tax filing)

That won't happen until we citizens see the government as separate from us. We identify with our masters in the US. We cheer for our blue masters or our red masters. We need to change our whole paradigm about how we see the government.

Barr isn't going to go after the ruling class. Roger Stone wasn't in the ruling class. He was a rich guy who was a hanger on to the ruling class. An easy guy for our rulers to punish for malfeasance.

In other countries, coup d'etat conspirators are hung, drug through the streets or die by firing squad. Here, they instagram while dining on someone's liver with some fava beans and a cheap chianti.

Yep. The parade of Rs on Fox News..."We should do this, we should do that", "The DOJ should investigate so and so". Blah blah blah.

And Trump is naturally excoriated for tweeting about Stone. The media will say nothing about McCabe other than to celebrate him. On CNN, his employer.

And I am sure we will get some more "strongly worded letters." This seems to be the favorite go to of elected Republicans these days.

After the election is over, Trump needs to replace Barr with a reformer AG, someone who would be willing to make it his/her personal mission to clean out the political corruption at the top. There needs to be some serious bloodletting. These people have to be pushed out. Without this, the public's confidence in their institutions will never be restored. If it means a setback in various ongoing investigations, then too bad. They are the ones who created the mess in the first place.

Off the top of my head, diGenova would do it. He is aware of the issues and would show up on day one with a plan. But I dont know if he could get past the Senate

Trump needs to replace Barr with Giuliani. Then give him free rein to go after people.

I would be interested to see some big national polling on what the confidence level of registered Republicans is in their FBI/DOJ in light of these recent decisions. I dont know if there are baselines for this question, but if there are, I bet its at a historical low right now.

Supposedly looking at Brennan -- I have the reached the point I will believe it when I see it

" ... John Durham ... has been questioning CIA officials closely involved with John Brennan’s 2017 intelligence community assessment regarding direct Russian interference in the 2016 election, according to U.S. officials.

In May 2017, Brennan denied during a hearing before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence that its agency relied on the now debunked Christopher Steele dossier for the Intelligence Community Assessment report. He told then Congressman Trey Gowdy “we didn’t” use the Steele dossier.

“It wasn’t part of the corpus of intelligence information that we had,” Brennan stated. “It was not in any way used as a basis for the Intelligence Community assessment that was done. It was — it was not.”

However, DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz confirmed in his report that the dossier was used in the Obama administration’s 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA). As stated in the IG report, there were discussions by top intelligence officials as to whether the Steele dossier should be included in the ICA report.

But upon careful inspection of Horowitz’s report, on page 179, investigators ask former FBI Director James Comey if he discussed the dossier with Brennan and whether or not it should be given to President Obama. According to the report, Comey told investigators that Brennan said it was “important” enough to include in the ICA — clearly part of the “corpus of intelligence information” they had...."

Yep, nothing will happen to anyone who opposes trump.

Funny. As explained on day one of this, the FISA procedure was never designed for domestic surveillance. The original cause was to stop international terrorists. We are pretty far from that here, agree?

As also explained on day one, the reason they went the FISA route to spy on Trump and his campaign is because FISA warrants do not require a showing of probable cause, as is necessary for a normal warrant. Your people knew they could not make that PC showing, so they used the FISC to skirt the demands of the Constitution. This was one political party using the full power and tools of the US intelligence apparatus and FBI to spy on the other political party during a campaign for president. The FISA Court should have extremely reticent to grant this warrant. But they weren't. You want to shrug this off, but that is no longer possible. This is a very big deal whether you like it or not.

There were 4 applications on Page, each signed by 9 people (not always the same 9). Each signature carried legal weight. They were swearing to the facts alleged in each application. But those fact were not true, were they? Not only that but some of the material was forged! This has already been admitted. A Democrat FBI agent has admitted he altered physical evidence.

Put it all together and think about just that one point. They went for a FISA because of the much lower legal threshold (no probable cause showing). Yet despite that, they still thought their allegations were so weak they had to lie to the Court to get the warrant. What happened here is pathetic.

If I were Carter Page, I would file Bivens actions against all the signatories. These good people knowingly violated his rights under the 4th Amendment acting in their official capacities under the color of federal authority. I can tell you from personal experience that a Bivens case like this, which has some real teeth to it, make people in DC soil themselves.
They were actually spy hunting. So, I'm OK with it. You say witch hunt. I say, when you're hunting witches it's appropriate.

I feel confident stating that the FISA process was abused prior to 1/20/2009. So get off your high horse.

And I see the wikipedia reference for when our nation went to hell will have a big picture of DJT with his makeup, spray tan, bad hair, and lifts being surrounded by his "best people".

Your feelings don't equate reality, Bubba.

LH, again has no idea how to respond to a statement. I never said he should be security adviser. I said he should be AG or some similar role in the DOJ.

I mean you voted for someone who actually got hacked. If maintaining cybersecurity is really a responsibility you hold important, you have already proven yourself a fool.
