Colt's injury prone...

It seems as long as he is not getting a late hit from aggy, or doing a QB sneak at the goal line, or playing K-state...that Colt has been staying healthy.

This is very important!!!

Do you guys see us trying to limit Colt's carries because we don't have a viable backup ready at this time?

We lose, Colt... we lose our season.

Furthermore, are we in the same boat as the rest of the conference? Does OU/Tech/Mizzou have viable backups. Are they just one person away as well?

Colt took a good number of hits last year running for his life behind that young o-line and did not get injured. He showed how tough he is last year.

Colt is bigger and stronger than the last two years. However, calling QB draws and taking hits from the FAU and Rice secondary is not the same as what Big XII defenses can dish out. Just sayin...

Colt has put on 35 pounds since he first stepped on campus. When he first started playing at UT he was pretty lanky and a bit vulnerable to injury. He is a lot stronger now, thus less likely to get hurt.

Having said that, he is a critical resource for the horns and the opposition will definitely try to hurt him if they get a chance.

Most teams in the Big 12 would be devastated if they lost their starting QB. I did notice that UConn lost their starting QB and did not miss a beat.

Mack said GD calls about 4 runs per game for Colt and Colt decides to run on his own another 4 times per game. 4 called runs per game isn't much. Perhaps Colt could be a little more cautious about contact (i.e. go down before contact when possible or get out of bounds when possible).

I would like for Colt to not run any QB sneaks because that is a great opportunity for a cheap shot (plus we now have a bona fide short yardage back in Cody).

Every life form is prone to injury. Moreso for football players.

Is he more injury prone than any other QB in the XII? Let me put it another way. Is Colt the least likely QB to get injured?

Today, he is.

All that injury prone means is bad luck. No athlete that is that in shape is going to be more likely to get injured. Injury prone is something Mel Kiper invented to downgrade certain players if he could not find a flaw with their play.

Limit the sneaks, but let him run as much as he wants.

He's more likely to get injured standing still in the pocket than from taking an indirect hit on the run.

This is the reverse jinx. We are DOOMED!!!!

Seriously, should we be limiting his touches?

Do others in the Big 12 have the same issue? I don't know... do ya'll. Is OU deep at QB??

If Colt doesn't throw himself out there then it is a 3-4 loss season easy. It is always a gamble but one they have to take this year. He's playing great, why stop him now.
