Colorado v Nebraska

Minnesota has a defense, Colorado does not. Nebraska probably wins in a close game. However, I will be pulling for Prime Time to win. Pretty cool he is coaching his sons and shaking up college football at the same time.

The line is CU + 3.5 points.

After what I saw Sat. at Amon G. Carter stadium me thinks CU will beat the Huskers in a close shootout, plus the game is in Boulder which might be worth a few points.

Nebraska's mistakes against Minn (particularly Sims' ill-timed picks) will probably be controlled a bit more in Boulder, seeing as how their D is still figuring it out. But they definitely don't have the speed at skill positions to hang with CU in a shootout.

My guess is that it's a tight defensive game for the first half and then CU opens it up and tires out the Nebraska back seven. Final of something like 34-20, CU.

i am still mesmorized by the QB/WR battery of Colorado. Can they be stopped? I guess they can be slowed and then the opponent may outscore them.
Nevertheless,
Col. 41
Neb. 31

Team that used to be good awhile back, and that's been through a bunch of down years lately, wins an exciting game with scores in the 40s (where exciting is equated with great b/c it was high scoring but if it had been 20-17 it would have been treated differently) against a team that has mostly been good for a while - and who blew them out by 30 the year before. So now people presume that the winning team is BACK and that both teams are pretty good.

Texas-Notre Dame 2016, or Colorado-TCU 2023?

Two things I remember from the 90's:

I was tired of the whole Deion Sanders schtick even back then.
We never beat Colorado once that decade.

At least I don't hold grudges.
Go Huskers!

We had feuds with both of these programs. They left the Big 12 because of those feuds. I cannot pull for either one, but my dislike of whining Nebraska goes deeper. I feel good that DeLoss is chiefly responsible for the demise of Nebraska football, that makes me smile.

so, CO by default.

there are some good analogies there, but Texas was never coming off a 1-11 season with 80-90% roster turnover led by a loud mouth showman telling anyone who would listen that “we coming” while being the talk of college football the entire off-season. Then shocking everyone (and that’s not hyperbole) by beating a team that played for the championship the year before on their own field. As I recall, we were ranked heading into our game with ND.

What Coach Prime has done so far (I emphasize so far) is nothing short of remarkable. We’ll see how the rest of the season plays out, but I am so impressed with what he’s done in so short a time frame. I’ll be pulling for the Buff’s all year long. My only concern with Colorado having too much success is that he jumps to the top of the coaching hires list and takes over OU or ATM in a couple of years. That would not be good for us.

Its funny watching the tv commentators and the ones here. Most people dont get that primes qb son was recruited and offered by a lot of P5 programs. He is not a surprise that he did well. Adding in Hunter who was the #1 recruit 2 years ago, those 2 greatly influenced that froggie game. Sanders throws a very good, catchable ball just like Colt did. Some guys have that skill and I wish QE had it. Neither cu or tcu have any kind of defense based on that first game. I am not a fan of the showboating that prime and his team displays but thats the game today. Texas has a big problem with it on D that started back when Strong came to Texas. Guys jumping up on any good play like they are the next prime. I get it that the times celebrate that but just not a fan. As far as cu and nu, have to pull for nu here. Rhule is a legit coach just like Prime appears to be but I suspect nu will show more respect on the field. Either way, lets go beat bama!! I feel its another ou blowout 49-0.....ok back to reality, anything more than they score is fine by me!!!

Sanders won't live in Norman or BCS. Not his kind of town. Cu is nothing but a stepping stone, ucla, usc, free shoes, the u are likely next stops. Baton Rouge is no bargain in my book but I wouldn't rule it out for Sanders

You probably dont even like Deion referred to as coach prime. I too, have disdain for arrogance but Deion is not all about arrogance. He has been humbled in many different ways in his life. He simply enjoys the game and he also loves to be a positive influence on his players teaching them to respect God. We need more coaches like that. Actually we need more people like that.

I don’t remember any of Sanders’ players showboating in the TCU game. Did they? Part of why I bought in after watching was that it was NOT like watching Houston Cougars.

Part of why Sanders kept saying they would win was because of his son and Hunter and the incoming freshman star—he said he was bringing Louis Vuitton luggage with him to Boulder and that’s what he meant.

Because of who he is (known successful black superstar, also earning black street credibility by coming out of the black college football conference) he can get away with a more disciplinary approach and actually get buy-in from big ego kids. I couldn’t help noticing he is giving shout outs to “the hood,” and if or when he gains more legitimacy, he could be a fierce recruiter in urban areas.

Sanders will take LSU if they let him have a house in The Country Club OR if Percy Miller sells him the vacant lot to build on.

Then there's this. Petty stuff. Belongs at Cu... even UH

I actually loved that. I’m a Deion fan now as much as ever (I admit it) but I think this response was just playing up the “nobody believes in us except our team” angle. Certainly he’s getting in a dig at the reporter. Other coaches do that. Maybe not as directly as he did. Regardless, if his antics get his team motivated weekly to take care of business then I see no problem with it. He didn’t use profanity, directly insult the reporter or make any reference to race in his response. I can’t wait to see what happens during and after their game this week win or lose.
