10 reasons why CU fans tore down the goalposts:

10. Well West Virginia is a helluva lot better than East Virginia - or South or North Virginia.
9. The goalpost reminds them of a huge "hook 'em horns" sign.
8. The way weed flows around Boulder, they wanted to take it down and cut it up into 1,240 pipes for "bong night" vs. UT.
7. Stoned CU students thought the goalposts were giant "extra plastic strips" that had to be removed from the "new" field.
6. It was time to "go play intramurals, brother," and they don't use goalposts for that.
5. With the lack of offense, they weren't needed?
4. The damn things get in the way of the view of Mt. Evans!
3. The West Virginia fans bought them to take back to Morgantown for "furniture."
2. The WVa fans wanted something to "hang Bill Stewart from" outside Fulsom Field.
1. Ralphie needed a hole to take a crap in, and well, now there's a hole!

as for rushing the field, i think that's what espn makes the home team do on thursday nights.

We're heading down (live in Montana now) to Boulder in 2 weeks for the game. While watching the fans rush the field last night, my son looked at me and said, "can you imagine how bad that will look in 2 weeks if they pull the upset?"

To make things more interesting, we'll be sitting in enemy territory.

Colorado fans aren't exactly the most refined. They really don’t need a good reason to rush the field. Even the following reasons would elicit a rushing of the field.

1) Free beer
2) Girls on trampolines
3) Any normal event that would spook a heard and cause them to stampede. For example a twig snapping under the weight of a hoof or a butterfly.

CU fans always come down onto the field, it isn't that the win was that big, it is just what they do after a win.
If they were really celebrating it would have involved tear-gas.

rush the field, why? because you can. everyone of you would go on the field at DKR if they would let you. no offense, but you ain't cooler than everybody else.
