Coaching Carousel - 2023

Don't know anything about Kellog, but looked up his history at SFA. First year, went 0.600. Every year after that the most games he ever lost in a season (after the first) was 8.

Not a head coach but a name we're all familiar with. Wasn't a coach at Texas but he seemed to be the primary recruiter of Celeste Taylor.

BTW - what is GIA?

Edit: Found it. Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Not a big name program but Special Jennings has been hired as HC of Jacksonville University. Jennings has been the head coach at Montverde Academy the past 3 years, winning back to back National HS Championships. She was Jordana Codio's HS coach.

Yesterday's UTEP hire was interesting. They're bringing back the winningest coach in program history (284-209), Keitha Adams, who led the Miners from 2001-2017 then left to take the Wichita State job. She was 80-93 for the Shockers from 2017-2023.

2 more spots filled including Wichita State's hiring of Terry Nooner, a member of Karen Aston's last coaching staff...

Not a great look when you’re an “ascending powerhouse program” and lose your associate head coach in a lateral move to West Virginia to work for someone he doesn’t have ties to. Maybe Carter was just tired of working for the Sand Witch?

I'm betting that JJ Quinerly stays at WVU. They're assembling a good staff.
It does appear Quinerly is staying at WVU.

But, I believe Erin Grant was let go by Adia Barnes after two seasons at Arizona. Grant has gone from working/living in Los Angeles, to Tucson, to Morgantown, WV . . .

Still hoping for a last-minute hop into the portal for JJQ and for her to land in Austin.

Seems like odd timing for Nneka to change universities…especially with USC having had such a good recruiting year while Rutgers has really struggled recently.

It’s been unofficial for some time but most likely delayed due to NMPs medical situation.
Wondering why she would leave USC for Rutgers. The trajectory of the USC program is very positive, and they've been recruiting successfully also.
