closet station....game 2

Jackson up for aggy. Another ground out. Quick inning for Cole and to the 8th 7-0 Horns.

Green has been magnificent tonight.

Cole at 90 pitches after 7, I can see him coming out for the 8th, but any sign of trouble and you go to the pen, skip Chance.

If Cole can get a quick 8th, Augie may let him try for the complete game 1-hitter.

As well as he is pitching he has a great shot at a complete game. either way we can run Stafford or milner out in the ninth and save Thomas and Ruffin for tomorrow. That will give Texas a huge advantage backing up Workman who may be the best number 3 pitcher in the nation.

aggy brings in another scrub to pitch the 8th. Walla leads off with a walk.

The depth of the Horn staff is really the dominant factor in this series so far..

Loy up, walla at second after failed pick off.

Single scores Walla, double follows by Shepherd and Loy is in.

9-0

Ha ha at the announcers pointing out how the crowd is thinning as many Ag fans have left. Then they show a pocket that still has some and they call them Aggies through and through, win or lose.

Actually, they are not Aggies, they are sadists.

14 hits now for Texas; Shepherd on second with no outs.

BTW Wallas cored on an error by the RF in fielding Loy's single. That is 3 errors for the worst fielding team in the Big XII aggy. Last night it cost them the game. They have more errors than hits and as many errors as they have had base runners.

Rupp up to bat. Draws walk.

Another reliever in, everybody gets to pitch tonight for aggy must be a little league rule in B/CS.

BOOMshakalaka! Keyes goes yard again. 3 run homer, babay!!!

A dozen for the Horns and a goose egg for the Ags.

Last week aggy gave up 13 runs on Saturday, today 12 so far. Not much of a number 2 starter apparently.

Green back out to start the 8th. Horns have 12 runs on 15 hits, aggy with no runs and a single hit.

The hero of last night (for us at least) Shofner leads off.

K, 1 down.

Up 12-0 going into top of 9th. Shouldn't the mercy rule be invoked right about now?

As nice as it has been for the bats to truly come alive tonight it cannot overshadow the absolute dominance Green has had at Olsen tonight. With a sellout crowd on the road and a series win on the line he has been outstanding.
