Clinton Disagrees with Obama Race Comment

I have always liked Hillary (Bill not so much). I still think that she is not that bad, except maybe a bit too much power hungry. I think that is making her listen more and more to the old Clinton cadre, who are a win at all cost group. They are the Rove of democratic party, though I think Rove is better at what he does.

Obama didnt call her a monster. I did. I could have said worse as some on this board have but I wont. You can disagree. and the person on his side did stepped down and said she was sorry. Clintons person is still firing her ********. I mean when she gets so deep into the mud that racism now is coming out I dont know how people just gloss over that and act like little Hillary isnt doing anything

You called Hillarys campaign so far mostly positive in another thread, so perhaps you just dont want to see it. Everyone and their dog has been talking about her going negative for the last many weeks

Doesnt change the point that her camp demanded Obama reject what his person said and that she step down

Clinton's person (who is certainly connected to the campaign) put out a statement that right or wrong can easily be taken as racism. now Clinton hasnt even followed what she would call on Obama to do if in this situation (or has called on in a previous one)

Sometimes when you have nothing going for you in substance, you have to run with painting the other candidate a racist.

Hope you feel good about that.

The comment was ridiculous and does not represent Hillary Clinton in the least.

Give me a break.

Texas Wahoo:

I can see why you hate the Obama campaign, it has integrity. Seeing the other guy have integrity while your own wallows in the filth and mud of Karl Rove politics must be extremely irritating.

Well Sii, like I said, I sure hope not.

Should it come out as a planned tactic, I would pull my support from Clinton instantly.

It would be interesting to try to assess whether Ferraro's comments are true. Even relatively innocuous things like hair or color of a tie impact perceptions in a Presidential race. It's fairly clear that race and gender play a major roles. It's fairly ridiculous to contend that one shouldn't discuss the impact of these perceptions. It's fair to argue that Ferraro's statements are false (or true or neither), but it's not fair to say that the question is out of bounds.

I don't generally read Newsweek because of crap like that. Again, now is not the time to have the race or gender discussion.

I don't think it was inevitable for the candidates to go after each other like this particularly since they each bring a "unique" characteristic to the Presidential race. In the end, I guess this was predictable since a Clinton was one of the candidates. At least, a Clinton not in the frontrunners seat.

Those of you who characterize Hillary Clinton as a "monster" would not do so if she were a man.

Fact.

(For the record, she doesn't have my support, so let's nip that retort in the bud.)

This is how the campaigning is done within one party, when one candidate is black.
Imagine how it will be when the gloves come off and the republicans are trying to run against Obama. Now that will be fun. Can't wait to start calling him and all his supporters racists whenever anyone dares to utter one word about the race of his opponent.
You just can't mention race at all if you are white in this country. There is no way to discuss it without being called racist.
