Clinton Disagrees with Obama Race Comment

Clinton said, "I do not agree with that," and later added, "It's regrettable that any of our supporters - on both sides, because we both have this experience - say things that kind of veer off into the personal.

"We ought to keep this on the issues. There are differences between us" on approaches to health care, energy, experience."

I believe that Hillary Clinton will be forced to distance herself from Ferraro and remove her from her role on the campaign. Of course, if the statement was intentional she'll remain associated with Clinton.

Though Clinton should "denounce AND reject" Ferraro and her comments I'm not expecting that to occur any time soon.

Ferraro went on fox news today and stood by her comments. Bill "Im sorry if racism offends you" O'reily had her back. She also threatened Obama saying he would need her fundraising in the general election.

edit: Oh yeah, Ferraro is "absolutely offended" by the negative response she is receiving.

Wow...Hillary is going to need to do a lot more than simply "disagree" with GF or the former VP candidate may single handedly sink the Clinton boat.

Remember Hillary's anger when Chris Matthews indicated that Hillary was getting support because her husband cheated on her? And Matthews wasn't a part of an opponent's campaign. Nor did that statement invoke race.

Clintonistas are playing the race card - ck out Dick Morris' take on this, he called this play 2 months ago. Given the Ohio-like demographics of Pen., I'm not sure why anyone is surprised by this move.

This is exactly how Karl Rove campaigns work. Look at the Swiftboat fiasco from 2004. Bush always made vague statements about how he was against dirty tactics, but never made any effort at all to actually stop it. Clinton is operating the exact same way. She makes a surface statement about how she's above the fray, but her attack dogs are free to spout blatant racism.

She wants to make this about race for Pennsylvania. She's going as dirty as she can and it is disgusting to watch.

And Texas_Wahoo, Hillary Clinton is a monster. If anything makes that clear it is what is being discussed in this thread. How else does one characterize who wags a finger at a virulent racist in her own campaign?

its obvious these comments dont get said without Hillary knowing whats coming

the fact she has barely pushed them aside speaks volumes. Now more has come out tonight and we will see what she does then. My bet is not much

Clinton is as dirty as come and has run a disgusting race.

As one who actually grew up a Grove Rat, I couldn't agree more. And what better place to make anti-black a theme than in Pennsylvania which has to be the most racist Northern state there is.

Hook'em!!!

The way was cleared for this kind of thing when Bill dismissed South Carolina because it had too many black people and saying "Well, Jesse Jackson won it..."

The Rove tactic is for everyone to get filthy except the candidate, and that's exactly how the Clinton operation is running. They are going as low as any Democrat has ever gone when campaigning against a fellow Democrat, trying to smear Obama with vicious racism while making sure Hillary maintains the thinnest veneer of plausible deniability.

I honestly cannot understand how Clinton supporters remain so.

I think many of the Clinton supporters are those who think anything goes in politics, and as long as it is your guy/gal doing it. Everything is a means to an end.

The Democratic leadership and well-knowns need to step in before she does massive damage to the party. This is as close to "scorched earth" as one gets.
