Whether we agree with, or like it, or not, there is a visceral difference between putting on a sarape, or other garment worn by locals, and clothing associated with Muslims or Islam.

Let me be clear, I disagree with what Hillary is doing and I don't think Obama should be treated any differently because he chose to wear Somali clothing for some photo op.

But in post-911 American politics, I think these kinds of images, even if distributed as a result of a Clinton smear campaign, will trouble some middle-of-the road voters who will gulp at the sight of an American candidate for president dressed as a Muslim, even if there is a plausible explanation for the it.

Seriously, I'm no Obama fan, but if the price of having him be our next President is burying the Clinton machine once and for all, I'm for it.

when the general election cycle comes around, don't be surprised if Republican websites and blogs put out very similar type of character assasinations (if they have not done so already - FOX news notwithstanding). I doubt the Republicans on the Westmall will condemn that. Now since the Clinton camp is doing it, it is terrible. Imagine if the Reagan camp did this, many would consider that action to be the height of patriotism. Politics is so fun!!
