Chronicle: atm feels B12 backlash in scheduling

That's aggy logic at its finest- Sam Houston, Texas State, SMU, etc are the same as Texas, Baylor, TCU and Tech.

I'm sure recruits are going to be lining up so the only game outside of B/CS their parents can drive to will be against the likes of Texas State.

athletic village. it takes a village?
the village people. college station is just a village. aggy is annoying. will not miss it at all.

Aggy... your logic is a bit skewed! But do you think anyone around here really cares what you say or what you think??? Really? Geez dude, give us a break and go away...

aggressor is right. Right now there are 2 teams in the SEC that are head and shoulders above aggy, LSU and Bama. Its that way in every conference. Yes, the SEC is on a roll right now, but historically, it is a 2 team conference, with a bunch of middle-of-the-road teams, like the B12, and the B10. How long ago was it that USC was the greatest team of all time. it all goes around.

^
The SEC is way more than a 2-team conference. What about Tennessee, Georgia, and Auburn? I would say their programs have been better than A&M over the years.

^^
They have all had flashes, Like Auburn, but when was the last time Georgia and Tenneessee were anything special. Wisconsin is really good, but historically, the B10 is Michigan and tOSU. Hasnt Auburn had their heads handed to them a few times this year already, and the seacon aint over??

And even if they are nothing but mediocre they are still better than aggy on a consistent basis.

But then again so is Georgia Tech, Boston College, Navy, etc......

Think about that one sports fans, in the last ten years Navy has been better than "ol army".

Heck I seem to remember Real Army almost beating aggy a couple of years ago in BCS.

The SEC is 'Bama, LSU and Florida at the top and Vandy and Kentucky (football) at the bottom. Missouri will be joining the Vandy and Kentucky group with aggy in the middle group, below Auburn, Georgia, Arkansas and Tennessee but above the Mississippi schools.

This is no different than other major conferences, historically one or two strong teams with a mid group that catch fire occasionally.

Ultimately, the future is in aggy's hands, not unlike their genitals.

Can aggy succeed in the SEC? Sure, it's possible. It won't be easy, though. I think their recruiting in Texas will decline, but who knows?

At best I see aggy hovering as the third/fourth best team in the SEC - at best. And I don't expect this to happen very often.

But whatever. I don't really care that much about them. I do find it a bit sad (and more than a bit hypocritical) that they turned tail and ran away from all their tradition. But that's their problem.

I thought AM was into traditions. Is not playing Tech and Baylor long traditions with the Aggies?

I would think if they were not speaking out there collective *** they would be upset about those rivalries coming to and end, not just Texas.

Oh wait, they only have selective traditions.....I see........

Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Florida, and Auburn have all won NC's in the last 15 years in the SEC. It's not a 2 team league. LSU actually had only won the SEC a few times prior to Saban and Florida was a joke prior to Spurrier. Georgia is also one of the richest schools in all of college football and was a BCS team just a few years ago. It's a very deep league and no one stays on top for too long, Bama has been closest to consistently great but they have had quite a few dry spells. Florida is the richest school by far.

Having coaches acknowledge that they are seeing negative recruiting (wonder where that is coming from?) is far from acknowledgement that A&M is screwed. The SEC move is a long term play though. A&M should be decent but struggle for a couple years but once the new facilities and renovated Kyle are in place to go with the increased exposure A&M is going to be in great shape.

Adding WVU also puts a huge hole in many of the negative recruiting arguments being used against A&M. It's hard to find a less attractive school that is a really long way from Texas.

You named 6 out of 13 teams. Tenneessee, Auburn, and Florida may be good teams, but they dont look all that great. Isnt Georgia looking to fire their coach? Rumors?? Tenneessee has been average at best. Yes Auburn won last year, but Clemson won 1, BYU won 1, Tenneessee won 1, Georgia won 1. Even aggy won 1. But what is the historical success of those teams. Look, the SEC is on a roll, but I just dont buy the idea that aggy wants us to think that every week in the SEC is championship football. It aint. Boise had no problems with Georgia. Utah had no problems with Alabama when they met.
