Chris Del Conte - FRAUD

Wow, the first hype for 2021!
Not meaning anything ugly here Major, I just smiled and had that thought when I read your post. I’m one of those guys who always enjoys the start of the season cause ‘everyone’s undefeated’ when season starts and it is going to be great. I love it.

Ha, just wait til summer. I'll be quite the minister of propaganda.

Baker Mayfield got chased down by a cop and it worked out well for him. I say sign the kid anyways.
I know it's supposed to be a joke, but for the record, Mayfield didn't actually commit a crime; just ran in drunken stupidity when his friend was being questioned. Got tackled, end of story. It's just a funny thing to make fun of a guy who did a 10 second brain fart while drunk.

This, on the other hand, ... carjacking?? Totally different level.

Hmmmmm. Our D back then could’ve used the video of that cop’s tackling technique.

In all seriousness, during the second half of this year, our tackling was pretty decent. It’s been a while since we could say that with a straight face.

No, if anything CDC is following his philosophy of only firing a coach when he has a replacement lined up that is proven.

Firing Tom Herman in a vacuum makes no sense without a replacement already signed up. We learned that lesson in 2013 when Mack was let go without a replacement already signed up and we don't need a repeat of the s*** show that followed as we swung and missed at several replacements. It was going to cost 25M in buyouts and really only Urban was worth that so its hard to fault CDC for this move. He tried to get Urban which is to his credit and he didn't fire TH in vacuum which is also to his credit.

The problem is players hate Herman.

We didn't get a rush when we signed Ewers, but the receiver from DellValle jumped to tOSU as soon as he committed there. We will get destroyed in recruiting.

Fire Herman, which should have been done ofter the OU game, promote Ash and recruit who you can. This will buy the time we need, not kill time which we will do by keeping Herman.

Keeping Herman is the worst thing Texas can do.

Disagree completely. An AD has to think business and they have to think long-term. And shelling out $25-$35 million for a new, unproven coach is just a poor business move.

Looking at the film from KSU, it's clear we have A LOT of young guys (on both sides of the ball) that want to play football. And now they have the opportunity to do so. I think the 21 team is going to surprise a lot of people.
And now we don't have to find out if a black head coach would support the Eyes of Texas! See? Win-win!

When I think of a football school I mean national championships. Yes we have been good but I'm speaking of teams like Alabama, Clemson, Ohio state etc... who have won championships. It's not a knock on Texas at all but the fact we have had the talent and have not won anything shows that we don't have the coaching to make Texas a "football school"
Man, that therapy I keep recommending hasn’t quite kicked in I see.

Man, you're really into that topic. I'm just glad our current coaches (were told to) support the Eyes.
You’re welcome. Yeah they were told. Then what happened. Will be interesting to c what the games look like next season with a full stadium and the band. Will everyone still be pouting over the song or gut it up and play/stand for it...
