Chiles...

Chiles is a baddass and we all love to see him with the football. But it ain't happening for him at QB. If he wants to stay there, so be it. But God help us all if Colt goes down and the coaches bring in Chiles instead of Harris.

Spare me the whole "coaches know better" ********.
 
Orangecat, I think...yes they recruited him with his lack of experience but under a condition. They promised to give him a shot and chance at QB. They did not lie. Other schools may have not said they would do this. This has backfired on us in the past too by being honest with a player and recruiting them at another position, not the one they think they can play.

That player gets promised by another school they will play at that position but lies and they end up not doing so. Mack and Co. are true to their promises and words. They felt he had enough raw talent that he deserved that shot at QB. Also, that he has enough that if it did not work he could shift somewhere else. That time may be here now. I think we all think it is from our vantage points.

The computer has no chance. It is laughable, man--ha!

As for Chiles, the coaches aren't holding him back. Please. He has gotten (as we demanded) adequate early opportunities, and he has done diddle-piss with them. Furthermore, the other team knows exactly what is coming when he is in the game because that is all he can do. In any case, this is his last year at QB given the sweetness we have coming in next year. If Colt is hurt, our season is over, obviously.

I've always thought that JC could develop into a decent WB, but I'm starting to have doubts. He just does not look comfortable. Maybe like someone suggested, he could come in and run a'wild steer' package, but not be a fulltime QB.

I'm really beginning to wonder, just how awful Sherrod must be, to not be 2nd string by now. He was a very good QB in hs.
 
Sherrod is not awful and is getting hosed. Sherrod could go to another school like UCLA or something like that and likely start. I don't think the same could be said of JC. The experiment needs to be scrubbed and the depth chart at that position shifted to have Harris the 2 with more playing time when it counts, not just handoffs.

You can always bring in your top guy if need be but for heavens sake, put the backup in for some serious reps.
