I was baiting (fishing) I Don't Exist for using the term on another thread (He didn't like that Charlie was mentioned in a post about Mack Brown not recruiting Baker Mayfield). So I felt the need to bring up red herrings in the post but it was about Charlie being morally superior but apparently if a bowl game is in question he has ultimate faith in his qb and did not/will not suspend the player even for a series because "he knows this young man and he has integrity". The qb still made a lewd gesture during the loss to UCF and, since there's been talk of Baker Mayfield's unacceptable behavior, I took the opportunity to bring up Charlie's qb's unacceptable behavior that resulted in no suspension/punishment.So, I will admit that I had to look up red herring and here is dictionary.com's definition
something intended to divert attention from the real problem or matter at hand; a misleading clue.
If I am interpreting the OP's thread title correctly, he is implying that Charlie Strong is the red herring. Based on the definition, I don't see it.
The red herring, if there is one, in this matter would be the excuse for his player behaving in such a way that isn't his character. IDK I not edjumecated enough to know.
