Champions Final

I pretty sure Puyol said F**k it after Ronaldo charged him with a two footed lunge that should have been a red card. He'd do anything and everything after that to win, including the "black arts" of feigning injury and going down easily.

Manu should have been down to 9 men with Scholes and Ronaldo off for dangerous play

glad to be so wrtong!!!!

Gee what was I thinking. I was only paying attention to 98% of Puyol's game. The percentage where he played out of position for the first time in god knows when -- a position that is absolutely essential to Barcelona's attack. He wasn't anywhere near the fastest wingman, yet amazingly neither Ronaldo, nor Rooney were able to get by him. Neither did Giggs or Tevez. After he missed his scoring chance and went down from van der sar's save, he stayed on the ground. He was trying to sell the ref that he was hurt, and thus not able to recover the lost ground on MU's ensuing counter. Gamesmanship, for sure, but the ref didn't bite. Puyol got off his *** and chased the play down.

But you guys are right, let's concentrate on the few dives he had. Not the other plays he made.

1899-

I agree Puyol was immense today. I don't blame him for taking the piss out of the ref after Ronaldo chopped him down with lunge with both feet and there was no call.

Puyol deserved to raise the Cup as captain and Barca deserve the title.

I have hated ManUre since October of 1988. I have 20 uears brewed and ready to serve at any time. Specific hate for a specific team. The only team I have hated longer is OU and the Yankees. Notre Dame came later on.

Xavi and Iniesta simply carved up Carrick and Anderson(1st)/Giggs(2nd). There were allowed far too much time on the ball.

Honestly I'm not really sure what SAF was doing for most the game. United should have concentrating more on attacking down the right side against the 80-year-old Sylvinho. I think Rooney got behind him once all night. Busquets I felt was the other weak link in the lineup, since Yaya was having to play center back, and he didn't have jack to do most of the night.

Substituting Tevez for Anderson took off a possession guy for another striker, should have been Park or Giggs going off instead. by the end of the game United had Tevez, Ronaldo, Rooney and Berbatov all out there. I'm not really sure all four have ever played together, but this only made the Xavi problem worse because no one was pressuring him. He had all day to turn with the ball and find Messi for the second.

Giving up a header to Messi is pretty terrible in its own right. Don't really know what Rio was doing. Vidic was even worse and choked again, though not as bad as either of his last two Liverpool matches.

Puyol had a great game and I didnt think his flopping was anywhere near the level we normally see from team Mexico. (See what I did there, 1899...I supported you while also digging at you! Clever, dont you think?

Ilsa nailed it with regards to Xavi. In what world does not pressuring one of the best distributing midfielders in the world equal success?

The scary thing is Dani Alves was suspended last night. I rate him as maybe the best right back in the world, though I prefer Maicon because he's not a *****

Barca got hardly any attacking support from their fullbacks like they normally would with Alves and Abidal.
