Ceder Fever

anyone else have this? I feel like I am about to go to sleep and my nose is stopped up. How long will it last? What can I take?

For your headaches, try Excederin. The aspirin and caffeine thin your blood. Hence, your headache goes faster than say w/ Tylenol. But it may give you a buzz. I cannot have them on an empty stomach and beware of the phlegm already in your stomach that may cause you to throw up. Try something like bread or something mild before taking the Excederin type product.

Hot showers are your friend. Just sit in the tub and relax. I am starting my bout w/ it. Girlfriend is coming down off it. I get migraines triggered by sinuses. Sorry you guys are getting hit by it. Good luck.

Oh, don't eat any dairy or drink milk. It causes more phlegm and leaves that after taste. Lay off it. Drink water.

It's been whipping my ***. Over the weekend I was taking both Claritin-D and Tavist. You can get 30 generic Claritin at Sam's for $13. The real thing is over a buck a pill, even there.

Loop, might take it one step farther and get the Excedrin Migraine version.. That will stop a headache literally in 20 minutes if you down it with a highly caffeinated soda... Cedar's the one thing I don't miss about Austin

You all are *******. I've lived in Austin for 28 years and I refuse to let the CF get the best of me....you've got to use psychological warfare. Go with Xanex.

A couple years ago I finally got a prescription. I take Rhinocort once a day during the bad season. I have no side effects of any kind and the cedar doesn't bother me anymore.

That is one thing I do NOT miss about Austin! I don't really get sick much, but that **** would kick my *** every ******* year!

FLONASE is your friend. It is the bomb, the ****, the shiznit, all that and a bag of chips, and anything else you can think of.

sudafed w/ aleeve alternated w/ sudafed & tylenol works for me and it doesn't make me sleepuy like the "non-drowsy" benadryl, actifed and thers...

claritn d (prescription strength) works also buts even w/ copay it's still expensive

I went without anything for a few days and it was horrible.

I then got the Clariton that dissolves and ibuprofen.

Feel ok now, but this rain is going to dust it up again.

Unfortunately I have a bit of knowledge on this. Various prescriptions, gave myself shots for three years, two different times, etc.

Some things I recommend:

This won’t help for this year, but start taking Colostrum (you can find it at people’s, Whole Foods, etc). Allergies start in your stomach. If you have a weak stomach lining you’ll have allergies. Colostrum will strengthen your stomach lining. You pretty much have to take it year around though. The more you take it the better it works.

Have a prescription nose spray available and start taking it prior to cedar season.

If Clairton works great. If it doesn’t work use something else Zirtec, Allegra, etc. Allegra works for me, but Clairton might work for you. Clairton does nothing for me. You have to find the prescription that works for you.

If you can, leave town each year during the season for at least part of it.

If you exercise do it indoors. If you bike or run outside you’ll breath in much more cedar pollen than if you were just outside.

If you have access to a clean room that is good. And if you do, call me.

Pray for rain.
