CDC Where Are You?

As I have noted before, unlike most HF posters, I have been a Kirk Bowls supporter through thick and thin, until late summer when he went the politically correct route and applauded Herman for how he handled the insurrection. Something like “How
Herman Won the Summer...”

I emailed him and told him that the Kirk Bowls I used to know would never have written such a PC and off-the-mark column like that column.
Did he reply?

How the hell any Longhorn could support Bowels after he voted for Reggie Bush over VY is completely beyond my understanding.

That worthless POS's credibility was hanging by a frayed thread before he pulled that idiotic stunt. After? f him. f him forever.

Apples - Oranges. Shaka didn’t throw Longhorn Nation under the bus; Shaka’s team didn’t abandon him; and Shaka isn’t an arrogant a**.

Show me one employee without a high level protective angel or without compromising pictures, that survived throwing their boss under the bus.
Funny you say that. Took over a new team 8 months ago and one known protected malcontent on my team i inherited is about to fulfill your prophecy in the last paragraph. 6 months of performance improvement conversations. Dbag would call HR after every conversation.
Basically informed my new boss and our spineless HR that I couldn’t lead a group if that was the standard. Amazingly, I was given the green light.

Yeah, often time HR needs someone to clean up the mess. If you are right, you are right and move forward based on your conviction.

Sangre, I cannot blame you. My opinion is that Vince’s performance against TAM really hurt him. Reggie was hot, coming off that run against Fresno State, and Vince sputtered against the Aggies.

Based on the body of work Vince should have won. But the Heisman has eroded into a “what have you done lately” selection. Have a great late season and in particular, a great last game and you are likely to win.

The A&M game vs Bush running for 7200 yards vs UCLA that weekend did it. Absurd.

I agree. Seems like the last two weekends of the season are the most important for the heisman. I have noticed that on several occasions.

That doesn't excuse the HOMETOWN voter voting against the HOMETOWN player in a race that was legitimately a close call!!! Especially when said voter explained he didn't want to be seen as a homer.

If Bohls voted Sam 1st for the Heisman this year, then sure, he could be seen by his media peers as an unobjective homer. But in 2005? With Vince f'n Young?

Nope. The POS lost me forever, and I am not alone in that assessment.

I agree. In fact, you are in the vast majority and I thought that it was a disgusting decision by Bohls, not his first.

The assessment Bohls made regarding Herman and the insurgency of the summer moved away from sports to politics, and not only did he (KB) misjudge the situation but he sold out to be in line with the prevailing narrative. His previous controversial takes exposed him to considerable and justifiable ridicule. This one was simply gutless.

Kirk Bowel-movement grew up where I live. Everyone out here who knows/knew him says he has been a contrary ******* since he was a kid. He likes the attention from being dramatic but is too lazy to leave the comfort of the AAS.

Interesting that you say that; voting for R Bush was specifically designed to GET attention, by being the obviously contrary thing to do. I believe that was his thinking and motivation, not that he had anything in favor of Reggie over Vince. “Look at me! I’m an anti-hometown affirmative action progressive! I’m not an Austin local...this proves I’m a national-level guy. Hello out there, can anyone hear me?!”

Texas AD Chris Del Conte: ‘I want to reiterate that Tom Herman is our coach’

“There’s been a lot of speculation about the future of our Football coach. My policy is to wait until the end of the season before evaluating and commenting on our football program and coaches. With the close of the regular season, I want to reiterate that Herman is our coach,” Del Conte said.

That is what CDC said about Herman being the coach. He was the coach with the close of the regular season, indicating he would be the coach in the bowl game.

Thats's it. Maybe he is the coach for 2021 and maybe he isn't. But CDC certainly did NOT say that he is or will be.

And, he knows damn well the talk circulating. He most certainly would, IMHO, @SabreHorn help me out here if I'm off, make a definitive, unambiguous statement to clarify and leave no question, zero, nada, zilch, as to Herman's status.

I agree. If he is not coming back then CDC’s ambiguous answer makes sense. If he is staying then it’s a piss poor answer.

CDC doesn’t strike me as one to not pump up his product or his people if he is 100% behind them. I think there is something coming down the line and I’m good with it if it’s someone better than what we have now (I.e Meyer). If not, be careful what you wish for.

Well said. When we fired Mack I said that I hoped we had someone better and a done deal. Instead we got the worst coach in UT history.

I must have missed it.

You didn't miss it because he NEVER said it. People hear what they want rather than what is said. Coach speak is a marvelous language, but unfortunately many do not understand it.

Chris said what he said, and was quoted. That's what the man said publicly and privately.

Again, he has NEVER said Herman would be the coach of the Texas Longhorns during the 2021 season. Do we as fans have a right to know? NO! CDC is running a $250 million a year business, and has no obligation to keep every employee informed of every decision made, and that includes personnel.

I invite you to take your disdain to Billie Powers home and express your disgust. I think there is a restraining order prohibiting me from that cemetery
