Cast Iron Cookware

The last couple of times I've looked at Le Creuset DOs at Sur La Table they had cheap plastic knobs -- rather than the iron knobs they used to have. The Mario Batali ones have the iron knobs that can take high heat.
 
That's true about dutch ovens generally used in low heat, but I have a bread recipe that uses very high heat and those plastic knobs were no bueno.
 
How'd that Lodge Enamel work out for you? I'm looking to buy a couple of cast iron enamel pieces and won't buy more Le Creuset unless I can get the 50%-75% off deal that I got the first time.
