Cannibalistic ticket holders

I'm giving a friend a pair at face value, using my other 2. Could have made 2 grand, taking care of a friend instead. Yeah, I want to pay for my trip by selling my extra pair and I have every right to do it in a free market but hoping karma helps in this case...

For those bitching, would you rather be trying to secure your tickets to the SUN BOWL? or get excited about the big trip to SHREVEPORT?

We're Texas, and we play in the big games that takes some big coin to get into the stadium. The alternatives are not appealing.....(see above)

I know students have it tough in this economy (just like the rest of us), but I would be pissed it I was a UT student who wanted to go to Pasadena but was passed over for tickets in favor of people using their seniority to just to make a buck.

Solution would be to distribute student tickets in Pasadena. When I was in school in the early to mid-1990s, the only game where ticket demand outstripped supply to a serious extent was the road game at Notre Dame in 1995. Student tickets were distributed at the stadium gate immediately prior to the game and there was no opportunity to sell your ticket. You showed your student ID, they tore the stub, and then you entered the stadium. Of course, back the face value wasn't $225.

Ticket prices are coming down already. Starve these cannibals.

The LHF system in place insures that the tickets cost a premium to acquire. With 84K season tickets sold it is a smart move by the LHF to get top dollar without knowing what the final product will be.

Actual cost per ticket to get seats is $650 - $700 min per ticket and higher if you have only 2 season tickets instead of 4 to allocate LHF contribution.

I have been an LHF member for a long time and twice have the bowl game tickets been worth the actual cost of the ticket.

This year and 2006.

All this bitching about what people do with their tickets is pretty much absent in the Holiday, Cotton, Alamo, Sun, Bluebonnet and Fiesta Bowl years.

The rest of the years tickets could be had for much less at the game.

LHF raises more money this way than any other.

Just ask any member with donation level under $1500.

I remember for the 1995 Sugar Bowl vs. Va Tech, we drove 4 of us in my S-10 (with the jump seats, it was tight). We met up with friends and stayed at a La Quinta Inn in Metarrie (sp?) or Kenner. We had like 8-10 dudes in the room. 2 per bed plus about 4 of us on the floors. One dude brought a chick home one night, she saw our room and took off (fortunately she took him to her place).

I slept on a sleeping bag on the floor...
