It's really saddening to see the Hornfans site, other UT sites, craigslist and eBay loaded with Texas fans dumping their tickets at 5-6 times the value that they paid for them just to make a buck. It is times like these that you realize how much money really means in the sports world and how it is truly running sports... and ruining sports. Of course there are the LHF contributions and the "true cost" of tickets, but that is bs when not attributing some of that cost to the other games as well.
The ****** thing is, that students are receiving their tickets, and a quick look at craigslist will show you hundreds of students scalping their tickets. The odd thing is, I can understand trying to make a buck, and you should when selling to scalper or broker scumbags as far as I'm concerned. But the thought of how many thousand 'fans' that I sit with the the stands every damn week of the season, buy up the tickets to turn around and sell them 5-6-7 times the ticket cost is just frustrating. Why do they get access to the tickets when they don't even want to go to the game>
Where along the way did I miss out on the want to rake other Texas fans over the coals so that I can recoup a "charity contribution" (and airfare, and hotel, and car rental, and F&B). I just don't get the desire. Don't people just want to go and watch the damn game, and cheer for their team, and sit around others who want to do the same thing, rather than sit around those others who shell out the big wads of cash to go watch the one game, and ***** the whole time about doing it. "Sit down!" "Damn that Greg Davis!" "Why the hell don't we just run the ball more!"
For those of you that want to see something fun, go and watch a game at Iowa State. Go there and sit next to a family from Wisconsin that got tickets to that game, because it is as close as they can get to a Texas "home" game. It can be such a different experience than a game in Austin, bitchy fans, and moneyball that is doing away with sports and sportsmanship in general. I realize that a large majority of fans aren't this way, but we sit around and listen them at every game.
This is just my rant. Mostly, its sad to see Texas fans cannibalize on others that truly want to go to the game, rather than profit off of the passion that people have for supporting their teams.
