Calif Dems want to pay reparations.

It is my understanding that you can go from Community Activist to U.S. Senator to U.S. President in a few years. Still looking into how that happens and will get back to you.

Texans Put 'Welcome To Texas' Signs Around Oklahoma So Californians Will Move There Instead
In the 1930s, certain California law enforcement officers, including the LAPD, would stop migrants from Oklahoma/Kansas/Texas/Arkansas at the Arizona border and illegally forbid them entrance to California. And they would frequently beat them up. Look it up, it's history.

And now the Californians are migrating to Texas and Oklahoma. They're being treated very well. The Texans, and especially the Oklahomans, were treated very, very poorly by the Californians back in the 1930s.

Today's migration mostly features kind and decent Texans welcoming (or at least tolerating) their countrymen. The earlier migration largely featured vicious and hateful persons treating their own countrymen like animals. See the difference.

While "The Grapes of Wrath" by John Steinbeck was a work of fiction, it was based on actual events. If you have not read it, you should.

If I recall correctly, the term "Panhandler" meant someone down and out on their luck and was used for those primarily from Texas and Oklahoma moving to California.

At least this guy is honest.

Yes, you had to have documented proof of a job to be able to cross the border. Imagine if that requirement was in place at the US/Mex border. I wonder what the libs would think if the US just did to the illegal immigrants what CA did to LEGAL immigrants.

Texas needs to beat Californians at the New Mexico border. If not Texas will die. It is already happening.

I agree
Build a wall, maybe at Calif eastern border.Cheaper by far than allowing them to destroy Texas and rest of country

There's nothing that will stop the change. We literally cant stop them from coming but when they do they almost 100% hate it here because we are independent free thinkers not dependent group thinkers. Then they all brag about changing it to a better place....like the place they already screwed up.

What can we do?

Even if this wasn't a titanically stupid idea, it costs so much friggin' money that it's never even going to be remotely on the table for real. It's nothing more than a ******** promise made for political expediency. It's the 40 acres and a mule of today except even sillier and less likely.

We get a governor who will protect our borders from invaders foreign and domestic. If CA could beat Texans to keep them out in 1930 then TX can do the same thing. Don't be a defeatist.

What can we do?

To quote the world's greatest surgeon, great friend, and former Aggie Yell Leader when someone asked me what I would do about the influx from the north and West, "Hell, he doesn't need to do anything, but I need a good horse, comfortable saddle, 30.06 with Weaver scope, and let me "ride fence".

Jim did have a way with words

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

I don't know the absolute limits of what a governor can do. But take the 10th amendment and explore. Look at history to see what was done in the past. All these things should give us ideas about what is possible for a strong leader to do to protect his people from harm. If CA enforced its state border, then TX can to. Right? It comes down to what a leader is willing to do. The main boundary to a leader's action is the legitimacy he has in the eyes of the people. Today TX is a conservative state, so he will generally be supported for protecting the state's conservative nature. That is true until it isn't which will be too late because TX will have some version of Gavin Newsom, who probably will have no qualms beating conservatives and Christians in the streets if they don't pledge allegiance to globohomo.

HiC, to you point. Could a governor not set up a perimeter 5 miles inside the US/Mexico border in order to keep illegals out? Any governor who is creative and willing to use power will be able to more or less what he wants. That is the system the Constitution set up. The primary power is the states.

Mona, so Texas tags them with trespassing which is all building a fence anywhere away from the border will get you. All that will do is further overload the county court systems.

I'm just trying to get people to think about possible solutions, instead of accepting the coming destruction. We need solutions not excuses.

Still in the case above, couldn't those at the "wall" be refused a court case since they are illegal? Let them sit there for the rest of their lives. Let Soros keep them fed and sheltered. If they never get in, they ain't our problem.

Mona
I like the idea of making Commifornians illegal
But I don't think that is a real solution
Do you?

It's the start of a discussion. Part of what sounds unrealistic right now will sound more realistic as ideas develop and objections get answered.

The bottom line is that gatekeeping of some sort will be necessary for Texas to stay unwoke, unMarxist. It is too good of a target for CAions and NYers who are jumping ship to get out of the hell holes they have created.
