Caden Sterns

A little over 16 years ago I stood at the turning point. I was in trouble with the law for the first time in my life and my wife of 30 years was ready to divorce me. A decision to change led me to a program that I live one day at time and I am happy, joyous and free. That wife who was ready to be done with me will be celebrating 46 years of marriage with me later this month.
The program required me to take a fearless and thorough look at the man in the mirror.
Congrats man. Made my day to read this story. We have "Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free" written on the Tower. The truth itself doesn't set you free, it's the truth that you know that sets you free. Too many people won't do what you did and take that inventory of their reality and make amends where they need to be made and make positive change. And congrats on 46 years. Your wife sounds like a real keeper.

DL Ta'Quon Graham:

"Until the final seconds tick off of the last game, I'm going to give them all I've got."

I guess he's a throwback to a different era

The one good thing about this is Whittier got a statue. Honestly he should have had one years ago. He was our Jackie Robinson. All the other crap forget about it.
Meh, while I agree Whittier deserves recognition as the the first black football letterman, a statue? Admittedly, I'm not intimately familiar with his playing career. Was he a great player? Was he all conference? If not, then IMO, a statue seems a bit much, and to some degree smacks of participation trophy virtue signaling. A display in the Hall of Honor, yes, but a statue?

Is all I need today. Thank you, Wadster.

Wouldn’t it be cool if Meyer recruits a bunch of 3 stars no names with big hearts and and all TEAM. Everyone grumbles how he got slaughtered in recruiting and then he wins a natty or at least a Big 12 in year one?

It all just bugs me but the Band I really do not get. I mean Christmas albums are made by people of Jewish faith, what the heck does a school song have over that concession in belief/value.

On a sub-conscious level, I don’t think the band kids in these troubling times want the “Eyes” directed on them in any manner that would question their courage on this issue or others. Easiest thing to do is walk away from the heat and not be accountable in any way to the state of Texas, which (for most undergrads) funded or partly funded their schooling from K to college degree. It’s chicken **** behavior and it isn’t more complicated than that.

It did break down a wall that had never been breached on the 40. Im fine with a statue as I consider Texas allowing a Black player to be monumental at the time. But that doesn't mean we let the patients run the insane asylum.

I’m still waiting for the post with the breaking news about the pyramids being torn down.

The UT band is just as crazy as the woke players. The one difference may be that the band is not on scholarship so if they dont want to play the song, they should not be in the band. Same goes for the players. If they view UT or the song as racist, why are they here on scholly? Just poor character by both examples.

Sam throwing more shade...............

And with this- I’m back in... Sam and TaQuan Graham stated something to the effect he was playing hard until the last minute of the last game. Hookem
...say what you want but im guessing if there is some kind of alumni event in the future-there’s no doubt Cosmi and Stearns will be looking sheepish for the rest of their lives in Austin.
They bleed orange, yeah.

Was Sterns even on the roster this year? Lol

Sterns played in 7 games 1pic. 30 solo tackles, 22 asst. tackles. He hasn’t been a visible as he was in his frosh year and was banged up some last year. He’s not the hot stud DB he thinks he is.

since he’s opting out this season, will he transfer out, play next year, or is he done for good?

Eagles had a good year, a big step up in consistency. He needs to come back to make another step.

If I were the new coach, I bid Sterns a fond farewell and use that ship on my own recruit who will sing The Eyes and play for me.

I wish Caden and everyone else opting out the best.

Since he instigated the nonsense this summer and is now a quitter, I don't wish him the best. Guess TH was right. I don't care about this guy and what happens to him. Players who go to Texas and do their jobs and are good Longhorns and guys, I wish them the best.

‘Til Gabriel blows his horn? My new favorite Longhorn. Texas Fight. This kid gets it.

Ain't it pathetic that Texas has gotten to the point where we are celebrating guys who actually don't quit the team and will commit to playing hard for 60 minutes?

WOW Rick!
We both have a lot in common. I had my moment 26 years ago and my wife asked me to leave. Yep, it was all on me. I did and a week later she asked me to come back. We did counseling go to church even though I still cuss (some), drink some beer and wine (Not much).:beertoast:. We celebrate our 47th this March 6th. We too are doing great.
I am really happy for you and your wife for sticking together. I am also extremely proud of you for conquering a issue that seemed to have control of you. A lot of people don't take that tough path.
A HUGE HOOK'EM

Texas absolutely needs him on the football field. Best receiver we have (more consistent than Moore and better build).
No matter how much talent a player has, they can destroy a team and cost future recruits. Not saying Eagles, Sterns or Overshown were directly responsible for Ewers decommitting, but they played a role.

How so? From their social media posts in the summer, before he committed? I heard Herman screwed the pooch with his douchebaggery
