Unreal. To allow those two schools to slip out of our grasp is outrageous. Simply outrageous.
Not going to be a popular post, but when OU leaves the Big 12, it turns into a Mountain West/Sun Belt conference. It's a joke football wise without OU. Texas should go to Big 10 or Pac 12 if they get a chance.
ou isn't going anywhere without oSu unless they pay-off enough Oklahoma lawmakers. No conference is going to take an odd number so who else is going? If they were to leave, it would be for money. So, it's vital to make sure both UT and OU are getting as much money as the other top schools out there.
In the event that the break-up occurs, I agree that the B12 won't be salvageable. The good news: we can literally go any direction we want.
In the event of a B12 implosion, my preferences are:
1) SEC/B1G
2) ACC
3) PAC
4) Independent (worst option)

I am not so sure this is true. The Oklahoma lawmakers will make sure that OU’s position will be the most profitable it can be regardless of OSU. The football revenue is too important to the University. They would still play Bedlam even if they were in different conferences.ou isn't going anywhere without oSu unless they pay-off enough Oklahoma lawmakers. And all of the Devon Energy execs are OU grads. The OU football program helps subsidize the University. The opposite is true in Stillwater. ConocoPhillips moved its headquarters to Houston years ago. That’s not the tail that will wag the dog. Believe me.LOL, the Oklahoma lawmakers are far more concerned with the energy industry than OU football. Couple that with the fact that Conoco is ALL Oklahoma State grads, and OU football pales in comparison.
Total Assets - ConocoPhillips: $63B; Devon: $3BDevon Energy is a nice little company, but not in the same category as Conoco and Phillips, either together or separately. Yes, they moved to Houston, and those private jets are making multiple trips a week to Bartlesville and Ponca City. They still have the financial pull and political strength to do whatever they want to do in Oklahoma. If they oppose it, it won't happen. If they promote it, take it to the bank.
