Senior night is here and this season has gone by very quickly. Hopefully we can shake that heartbreak hangover from Wednesday night and handle business. BYU is much better than their place in the Big 12 standings might indicate.

While I don’t think tonight will fully take the sting away, this win being the beginning of another long winning streak certainly would.
 
BYU's Gustin is a really good player in the paint and relentless on the boards. This should be a good test to see if we learned a lesson Wednesday night.
 
I am looking forward to seeing Gustin in person and how she plays against all of Texas’ size. She has made it look easy the few times I’ve watched her on television.
 
Since we're not honoring Taylor, DeYona, and Shay tonight, that would mean the plan (at least for now) is that they will return next season. Bummed that Hadi is not returning, but I'll still hold out hope as she (and our coaches) could still change that later.
 
Last women's hoops game ever on LHN and they don't start the TV telecast until 7:04 PM and we miss the first the intro and first Texas basket.

Hadi probably wants to get on to medical school.
 
So, tuning in late, LHN shows Horns up 29 -22 at the half. Pardon my ignorance. Is the game further along than that?

Holle and Gonzalez BOTH 0-7 from field at end of 3rd quarter. They’re playing ok but shooting terrible
 
Holle ended up 1-9 and Gonzalez 1-8. Holle 2 points. Gonzalez 3 points. Both got baskets in last minute of game. The played well but for sure Horns need more than 2-17 from floor to reach this team’s potential.
 
Really wish schools could provide travel expenses for players’ parents on senior night. Would’ve been awesome if Hadi could’ve had her mom in attendance.

Guard play definitely has to be more productive offensively. I'm starting to wonder if maybe we're running out of steam on the perimeter due to all the minutes that have been logged. That's going to be a really tough matchup with Kansas.

Texas won 71-46; a 25 point win. If I hadn’t known the score I would’ve thought we had lost from some of the comments on this thread. Some players have off nights shooting. The sky isn’t falling. They’ll have a few days needed rest and turn their attention to the Big 12 tournament. We should trust in Vic and the team that everything is going to be ok. No sense wringing our hands—we can’t do anything about it.

With Wild West NIL, couldn’t the school just do it?

Fun game tonight, even with the guards having an off night. I flew into town Thursday, went to softball Friday night, mens bball, softball and womens bball today. Back to Wisconsin tomorrow. It was a 4-0 weekend for me cheering, so I can’t complain!
 
BYU is scrappy. Good defense and I believe they out-rebounded Texas. Wish we could get Guston for her 5th year. She and Vic had a long talk as they shook hands.
 
Great atmosphere in the Moody tonight with over 10k in attendance and $167k donated to Neighborhood Longhorns Program. OU’s loss took some of the joy away, but I hope it keeps our ladies pis*ed off and ready for revenge.
 
I was very happy to see Faye playing. After the game they showed videos about each of the two seniors, with coach & teammates & family comments. I got especially teary-eyed watching the video from Hadi's family. And the crowd went wild when Shaylee finally hit that three!
 
It was nice that LHN showed the postgame Senior activities, but a shame how badly they covered it. It was basically a bunch of very long closeups. We did get a couple of quick glimpses of the videos.

Great attendance number for the 10k for 10k challenge.
 
When Vic came out in the full court press on inbound, I said, "Okay, here we go. Since Rori went down, we don't run at as much as the beginning of the season. But even last year, I think the players were getting worn down and it was run less and less. But, Vic's philosophy is that it causes mental and physical breakdowns in their play leading to turnovers".

That was proven with the 4 or 5 shot clock violations as well as two steals on inbounds that lead to points. And then I thought, "Oh, the teams we face in the tournament are going to be in for a treat."
