I’ll let you and Sterns defend this.

I'm done with the politics on this board. One, because I respect the owner and they have requested to keep it off of here and secondly, it's officially football season and I'm full sports mode but I do have one question for you.... "where is that same energy when an unarmed black man is killed?" I don't think it's right whatsoever what happened to these officers and that person will absolutely spend the rest of their life in jail which is the difference between the two because these officers get away free every time. I hate to say it but the feeling you have on this situation is exactly how black people feel when someone gets killed.

I will say that in the last several years being here in the suburbs of NE Illinois, I have been a loyal and faithful viewer of LHN. I don't just watch football. I have tuned in to many soccer and volleyball games. Frankly, I enjoy watching the ladies basketball more than the mens.

Whatever my digital signature or whatever LHN/ESPN get as a stat of a viewer tuning in for ad sales, they have lost me with all of this.

It's too bad UT couldn't keep all of this separate so I could go on enjoying my LHN viewing. That's on them, not me.

That would be true, by the way, no matter what non-sports was being thrown my way.

Shouldn’t ask for proof then get mad when you get it. Try to source news outside of CNN and MSNBC. Police officers have gone to jail when convicted by a jury. We will miss you.

Come back after football season and the election. Not normally this “hot”.

Done with politics on the board and then proceed to make an entirely political rant. And you have the internet balls to call out my "ignorant" beliefs or whatever the hell you said.

See ya.

They most certainly do because it happens to them all the time!! They get profiled when they walk into stores being watched and followed because they think they are going to steal. Many players have said they were getting so much attitude and hate from officers when getting pulled over until they tell them they are players for Texas then their entire attitude changes toward them. They most certainly do experience injustice and racism at that age and it starts even younger than 18. They may not have had a violent encounter with an officer and some may have but they have been experiencing what everyone is so pissed about most of their life. So they understand what they are speaking about. Just because they have not lived most of their life does not mean they are unaware and inexperienced.
Obviously you've never been white and pulled over by the APD.

If a black person really believes they're being profiled when they walk in a store they have some serious schizophrenia issues. Of course schizophrenia is probably the main reason people become liberals in the first place.

Completely agree. I have been harassed by police as well when I was young. I was taught to say "yes sir and no sir." I'm older now but still keep my hands at 10 and 2 if pulled over. It's common sense sense and not race related. The police have to protect themselves and deal with some bad people.

If BLM cared about black people at all they would tell everyone the same.

Interesting interviews on racism in America.

BINGO!!! Thank You Morgan Freeman. Stop talking about it!!

LOL, why didn't you also ask the question about an unarmed white man? Do they not matter to you? It's an absolute myth and all out lie that black people are being hunted down and killed in droves by the cops.

It's west mall so politics is allowed (maybe not on the sports board but the West Mall board is specifically about politics). I bet you didn't like it when Highland Mall had security close up during the Texas Relays because they got shoplifted en masse every year about the same time.....

Communism Survivor Warns What Will Happen if Americans Take Freedom for Granted | Jon Miltimore

Thought I would post this here. BLM is funded by George Soros. He is a communist sympathizer. Open Society Foundation is his foundation. He gave ~$75 Million to BLM. Probably over $100 Million by now. I look at the organizations behind movements to find true intentions. BLM and Antifa have communist roots. Look them up. It’s out there. They hijacked the end racism movement. See the riots.......that’s not for civil rights.

According to Twitter, this black male executed 3 white men sitting outdoors at a pub. He was laughing when arrested and was wearing a Breonna Taylor protest shirt. I am adding this for context, not to say one side is worse than the other. But it’s clear our student athletes have been brainwashed.

Arrest made in Beulah Church Road triple homicide, victims identified

Will the Texas football team or soccer team skip practice in unity to help solve this social injustice?

Who are you to decide whether or not what should and shouldn't be associated with Texas? I don't understand how you support athletes when they are winning your team games but when it comes to real issues they deal with in their personal lives you all don't give a damn. These athletes don't owe you anything. They are human and have an opinion just like you do so why is it okay for you to be able to state yours but it's a problem when they state how they feel?
Just as you or I are well-advised NOT to bring politics to the workplace, the same holds for athletes on the field. That is a workplace, even for the student-athletes. They are there to do a job.

I don't really care what they do on their own time, but when athletes on scholarship or who I am paying to see PERFORM, I expect their focus to be entirely on the task at hand. And in the case of Texas athletes, I damned sure expect them to participate in traditions they were fully aware of when they accepted a scholarship...like standing for the Eyes of Texas after EVERY game, whether the band is there or not.

Oh, and yes....the powers that be related to donations ARE taking notice that donors are not happy with the current state of affairs and the efforts to destroy the University across the past several years...

Okay at the end of the day you can be upset all you want, these athletes do not care whatsoever. You may be a donor and upset about what they say and do but these athletes are not getting paid to play so they don't have to if they don't want to. Just because you're upset does not change anything in the program or university because at the end of the day what are you or these other donors going to do if these athletes choose not to play??? Absolutely nothing! Which is why the university met their demands because these athletes have all the power. You may think you have a say but you don't and that's what you all fail to realize. Without these athletes Texas athletics is nothing and you might say "we can go find other athletes who want to play and not bring politics into it" but let's be honest they are not.

It gives the university a bad look as a whole if Texas tells these athletes to be quiet and keep politics out of it. Why do you think Texas has supported these athletes so much? So all this talk of you being upset and paying to watch them play nonsense means absolutely nothing to these athletes because if they don't play you won't be watching anything.

If donors really aren't giving money or if season ticket sales go way down CDC will care and that care will flow down hill.

This year's football team is dead to me. When the athletes and a head coach become sharp enough to understand they are in the place they're in solely because they provide entertainment, the better off they'll be.

Until then they don't exist. I'm surprised by how little I miss Longhorn football, and I've followed closely since 1963. I'll be back, but it will be on my terms. Not someone else's. When players (and a head coach) wise up to reality I'll be back

The athletes don’t care whatsoever and yet we are being preached at that we should care about them. Comical.
Nobody is telling you to care! That's what I have been saying this entire time. If you don't support then then don't watch lol you might think they care but they won't even notice. I'm sure they only want fans who support them off the field to watch and support them anyway. You don't want to spend your money on Texas football than that is perfectly fine. There are many donors and people who will support them regardless.

That's perfectly fine as well. Like I said above... if you don't want to support them then simply don't! Fans will be in the stands regardless. Even with all this happening. If they were allow full capacity in the stands Texas will have a sellout game because unlike you much more fans support these athletes than those that don't. So again if you don't like it then simply don't watch. Texas football will go on with or without your support. Sorry to tell you but your not that important :hookem2:

Ironically, you seem to think most of us care what you think.

Yeah, they don't care. Great business model they are running there. I'm a lifelong Texas fan who won't watch and spend money on merchandise anymore. Yeah, they've really shown me.

And according to people like you, I must be a racist for disagreeing with them. Screw that. Take that **** somewhere else.

Last time I looked I paid to get a degree from the University. I worked construction over summers so I could pay for rent, tuition, books, food and beer. Yeah the athletes are being payed.

If the athletes have "all the power" why do they answer to the Coaches and University, attend class when they are told to, and do exactly what the University and Coaches tell them to do or risk losing their free ride? Their azzes can be run off at the slightest misstep, be forced to run stands, and sit the bench. Texas is nothing without those athletes? What a dolt. The University of Texas is so much more that a group of ignorant 19 year old children, 70% of whom probably couldn't qualify without athletics, running and jumping. What would happen if those athletes were gone? The same thing that happens every year when their eligibility ends; they leave and most are forgotten forever. Then the University signs up some new athletes. What would happen without athletics? A more intelligent, better educated graduate would emerge.

Yep. I would say the athletic department exists for one reason and that is to promote the university and generate tons of money. They are screwing the pooch on that by allowing this ******** from these entitled players. And, that is exactly what they are.

Nobody said you were racist at all. If I wanted to call you a racist you would have known I called you a racist. In case you have not realized I truly do not care and will say whatever I feel when I feel like it. Lmao you think you showed them by not watching or buying merchandise. Texas does not need you to watch or buy anything! Why do you all not realize that. TEXAS DOES NOT NEED YOU. As you can see football season and Texas sports will go on without you. It's the fact that you all think people will lose sleep over you not watching. Lmao these players and people in power do not even know who you are so again you are not important to the Longhorn fanbase.
