Buenos Aires ****New Questions****

Nap,
That area you are in is really great. Try the cafe on the right as you enter the movie theatre, somewhat french fair and great outside seating. Two doors down in Locos por el Futbol, Maradona's place.
The BA design center is just behind that shopping block and you can find good bargains on large scale items if you plan to do some shopping for housewares etc.
Casa Lopez and Taibo have shops right there too and they make some of the finest leather goods in all or BA.
As usual, the Alamo is where you can catch Longhorn or other American football matches.

RAIN

It's raining today and it has rained about 3 times in the last 7 days. Right now may be the rain season. For those of you coming down here, make sure you plan for possible rain.

-a water repellent jacket
-small umbrella
-leather shoes (shoe shines are Ar$3... just under US$1)
-ballcap

Just because the travel books and webpages show sunny skies, you are still arriving in the Spring. This is the equivalent to April. And as they say in North America "April showers bring May flowers", it is raining.

Thanks for the SOLID recs ... because of this thread, i may have had the best meal/wine of my life and the other 3 travel companions agree ... La Cabrera is the tits. That huge, delicious meal with sides and wine came out to about $25 each, and we left our badass waiter a solid 90 peso tip. Caught the footy match at River Stadium (argentina won 2-0 off of Riquelme's two beautiful free kicks outside the 18), shopped in palemermo soho, went sightseeing in puerto madero, ricoletta, and downtown, drank a **** ton of quilmes and malbec, and partied until sunrise.

I would recommend this place to anyone. Argentina ******* rocks the block.

Glad you enjoyed your time here. A couple of Texas Exes just arrived today (if my calculations are correct). I'm planning on having a Birthday Asado on the night of October 27th if anyone is going to be in town. The election is the next day and all of the bars & clubs will be closed and they will stop selling alcohol on Friday for the Sunday election!

I plan to buy in advance and have a relatively "early" 7pm-1am party/asado.
