I was at that Tech game, and Chance was outstanding bringing us back, but lest we forget his father was Tech's starting MLB on a Tech team whose trip to their first Cotton Bowl got detoured in McLennan County by a winless Baylor team, while Chris Gilbert ran wild in Amon Carter at the same time.

Anyone have any idea what ever happened to that motel maid in Waco? I hope our BMDs made sure she never had to work again,

I had a good friend who was a backup on that Tech team. When it came time for Tech to leave the motel to go to Floyd Casey, a certain "star" missed the bus. Bridgers sent an assistant to find him he. Player was having a good time with the maid. He didn't play.

DKR was furious because the entire team at Amon Carter had their backs to the field, There were two or three transistor radios in the stands and everyone was glued to the broadcast from Waco as the Bears beat Tech. Next week Arkansas rolled into Lubbock and beat Tech, giving them two conference losses, and putting us in The Cotton Bowl by virtue of having one loss and having beaten the Hogs.
