Bru McCoy back to USC?

After '69 Jefferson Airplane was garbage. Thanks for the nostalgia though.
I am a Decade or so younger than you IDE, but "Winds of Change" at the beginning of the MTV era wasn't too bad---my son, a soph at The University, mentioned in his Salutatorian high school address that "We Built This City" was indeed, voted the WORST song of the 80's!! Paul Kantner was the death (unfortunately) of JS agreed!!

I would submit that Grace Slick was the death of the Airplane. I really preferred their early music to later. In fact, "The Worst of Jefferson Airplane" is in the CD player in my truck.

I have a friend that owned the Chevrolet & Nissan dealerships in Huntsville. Jim sold and moved to Tiburon. On a visit to SFO, I drove over the bridge to visit him. As I approach his home, there was a police road block with cops everywhere. I finally talked my way through, but the disturbance was about 4-5 houses down from Jim. When I got inside his house and inquired about what was going on, he told me something about Grace is having another bad day & and is in her garage (door up) holding police at bay with a rifle. "Regular occurrence"

Sabre you and I are close imo-----didn't know that I was that old....

What’s telling is that USC fans at least, seem to be welcoming him back with open arms. I can’t believe his reinstatement won’t come with certain assurances. Because when Helton and his staff get fired, and they WILL get fired (especially if an Urban Meyer makes himself available) is Bru going to bolt again?

That’s a good question.

The guy that put together "Hot Tuna", Jorma something, was good. 'We built this city" is well deserving of any and all criticism. Plus it's BS. The Grateful Dead and Santana made their mark before JA at least locally.

Jorma really broke up Airplane because he didn't care about commercial success and said Grace and the boys were "sellouts".

Jorma Kaukonen and bassist Jack Casady left Airplane to form Hot Tuna.
I really liked some of their stuff.
The first "Starship" album, Blows Against the Empire, was still pretty good.
It maintained some psychedelic/revolutionary style the band was famous for.
After that I don't know wtf happened.

How in the world did this go from a Bru McCoy discussion to hippie flower power?

I'm a totally different generation from some of you guys. I grew up in the 80's. My music is mainly about heavy metal, Rap and 80's/90's country.

That means Metallica, Crue, Van Halen, Run DMC, 2 live crew, LL Cool J, Garth, George, and Alabama. I guess i'm a Gen Xer, though I still never grasped what that means.

I just know that hippie generation / baby boomers are starting to retire and beginning really this year, they are going to be well over a million per year filing for social security, it's going to put a huge strain on system to the point of collapse.

Most anything to eliminate the whining and classless comments about losing a recruit. Yes, the original topic made me think I was reading "Aggies R Us".

Flame away, but some of the stuff reminded me of the Sunday night conversation one of our star QBs had during which he informed Jackie he was committing to Texas. Jackie's instant response, "We're gonna kick your ******* ***" and then Jackie hung up on him.

I say BM (oh, great initials!) deserves every stinking “whining & classless” comment I have seen here. The guy is a chump. But, I do hope one day he will grow up and realize you can’t go through life making these kinds of decisions. We all make mistakes, but we better be prepared for the consequences....and that means sharp criticism and yea, getting occasionally trashed! Sorry, but that’s life!

Herman quote from today at our SMU satellite camp:

“We wish him well. We hope he finds what he’s looking for. He was a great teammate while he was at our place and did everything right. We wish him well.”

I can’t remember a more bizarre chain of events in such a short time involving a recruit.
Glad it’s over and we can move on.
Hopefully we can find a solid grad transfer to fill the ship, no matter what position.

Thread... example of why the off season sucks...

La Tech opener cannot get here fast enough!

In the meantime ou still sucketh!! :hookem:

Bru hates Metallica.....and Van Halen!

Well, I suppose that's a bit kinder than some of the 'coach speak' that Tom could have used:

I'm sure he'll be a good fit at that other program.
I understand his desire for early playing time.
His family will enjoy having him back home.
He'll be missed by a number of people in Austin.
I'm sure he'll thrive at a place that's more his style.

IMO ... Urbans possible coaching at USC is Bru's real reason for going back to cali

Leaving out all of Jackie’s cheating what star QB are you referring to and what QB at Texas did he lose too??
