As USC just showed us, absolutely no team in the country can afford to look ahead. That being said, the Cotton Bowl is going to be nuts if a no. 1 OU team is playing at top 5 Texas team.
 
what I CANT stand , is how pete gets a free ride for choking in games. Stoops gets plenty of heat. Mack gets plenty of heat. Both of them have just as many REAL national championsips as pete does.
They got to play a good(not great) michigan team in a home game and was awarded his other one. Im pretty sure there where 10 maybe 12 teams in the country that season that could have won one that way.
Somehow pete gets a free ride for dropping games to bad teams in a weak conference, and doesnt even have to play a conference championship game.
 
The polls should be interesting. If ou has a big win over TCU then they are definitely #1, however if they struggle and Georgia has a big game or someone else then they may jump to #1. Pretty wild USC losing. I honestly thought they were the best team in the country, hands down.
 
Serious matchups for both Big 12 and SEC looming ahead. Texas has not been ranked #1 in regular season in ages, so will have to go with a #1 Sooner team to make this a marque game. So be it. Now football is back where it should be. It always seems screwy for so much USC talk and presence.
 
if anyone on this board doesn't want Texas and OU to win the next 2 weeks you are an IDIOT.

then again, espn might not even notice if both teams are undefeated.
 
The atmosphere for TX/ou would be better if both teams are undefeated, but as soon as the TCU game starts I will be pulling for the Fogs. It is an involuntary action for me.
