Brisket Price Thread

Summer is almost here, hopefully the brisket specials should start soon where you can pick up a brisket for less than a buck a pound.

I know that costco is usually about $1.50/lb, so that's my barometer. If you see a special that is cheaper, let us know. And let us know what city it's in.

I can't wait for my Memorial Day barbecue.

Might also want to specify if it is packer trimmed or market trimmed. Also, if it's one of those fancy all natural briskets.

Just got a circular in the mail from Randalls

.99 a pound w/ a Randalls Card, but limit one and you have to have a $20 purchase. I hate Randalls so much.

1 -- Randall's usually isn't a stickler on that 1 brisket minimum and $20 minimum purchase deal. Or maybe I just get dumb cashiers.

2 -- if any of y'all clean my neighborhood Randall's out of good 10 pounders, I will rip out your eyes and skullfuck you.

HEB on 45 (Louis Henna) in Round Rock is at $1.49. I don't know what gives, it seems like HEB always has $.99 brisket around the holidays.

I paid $1.49 for the one I picked up last Saturday. It was at the HEB on Louis Henna.

Circular today -- Randall's in Austin, 99 cents (with $20 purchase -- sometimes they're hardasses on it, sometimes not). Of course, I just bought and smoked a couple this past weekend.

I'll probably buy another one, though -- throw it in the fridge, and smoke it for the 4th or something.

I bought two this morning from Market Street. Man, I've never seen a brisket that big. They had one that was 17 pounds! I was able to find two ten pounders so I'm ready to go.

Any updates on prices? I am going to smoke a 9-11 pound brisket this weekend. Either Costco or HEB. Are they the same USDA rating at both?

Costco was $1.59 this past weekend for a Choice brisket.

I think HEB only carries Select briskets.

The only problem with costco briskets is it seems hard to find 9-11 pound briskets there. I'm going there Thursday. Smoking it Friday night to Saturday morning.
