Breaking: Mayfield Suspended

It is OU, so would did you expect. They invented shady classless football long before Miami and Baylor.

Watching Sam or Boo- noticeable difference in maturity as compared to Baker.
I’m sick of the “he’s a competitor” BS.
Other more classy/more competitive dudes:
-Staubach
-Singletary (BU LB excuse the spelling)
-VY
-Tebow

I suggest they are more competitive while showing respect and leadership

What a joke.
If you're going to do something make him sit the game.
Otherwise just leave it alone like you've done every other stupid thing he's done.

I wish Heisman voters would factor athlete integrity and conduct into their voting... but I also wish they'd quit giving it to quarterbacks and running backs every damn year. Sure looks like the biggest douchebag since Johnny Manziel will be winning it this year.

Riley had to do something ... but didn't want to hurt the team. I wonder if he can't wait for Mayfield to get the heck out of Norman.

Wow. He should have at least, at the very least, gotten a full game on the pine.
ou continues to make a mockery of class, and of decency in sports.

First offensive play
Won't start...means he won't be on the field for the kick return/kick coverage. Also won't be allowed to be on the field for the first defensive series. However, the sanction will have had the necessary effect by the time Blow-U takes the field on offense...

Say what you will about Baker, he's now set an NCAA record for sincere-sounding apologies that will likely never be equalled.

This behavior started years ago. Baker is but one of a long line of OU players acting out to get attention. The Boz probably did it better than any of them.

The only reason they are taking action is because they are concerned about his Heisman candidacy and that will not be an issue with the voters, most of which have little in the way of values. (The Heisman has become a joke as evidenced by the non-selection of Vince and Colt). This is just a little smoke to hide behind to protect him.

Baker is a hotdog and probably has been one since high school. Unlike Texas fans, OU fans place their entire self worth only on winning. They justified him hitting the TCU player because TCU was near their warm up area, and now justify this action because the Kansas captains did not shake his hand and there were late hits on him during the game. They call them cheap shots. Late hits on quarterbacks happen in every game but they are cheap shots when they happen to OU’s little darling.

Dunno, HHD, Baylor got pretty darn low imho.

Short story: I was in Costco in Nashville after our OU game and a worker came up to me (I had on a Longhorn cap) to say he was sorry we lost to them. I said me too and asked if he was a Horn fan. He said no but his sons went to TT when Mayfield was there. Said, and I quote, "he was a p**** there and he's still a p****, we always root against him". Thought that was kinda funny.

If the NCAA had any balls Bakerfield would be suspended fro the rest of the season and ou should be excluded from a bowl game. However, we know the NCAA won't do a damn thing.
