Bracketology & the Various Super-Regionals' Games

SO. Gaggies going to Omaha. No dogpile - give them credit.
Not really, we do it because we basically average every two years we go...so it's expected. They rarely make it so better celebrate like they won it all because never know how long it will be before you make it back. Heck, since they are 2-12 at the CWS I would dog pile after every win they get there.

Ugggh!

So, it's possible, maybe even likely, that Omaha will be littered with all sorts of unsavory characters from this general region of the country in another week or two.

In theory, couldn't we get Texas vs A&M final? Aren't we in separate brackets?

It's a final.

Ole Miss crushes host Southern Miss 10-0 to take a 1-0 series lead. Even without being robbed of that Grand Slam, So. Miss still would have lost.

Watch out for Ole Miss. They're the dark horse that may crash the party and mess thing up for many. Same with the Irish.

"That's right--it was epic. We cruised right over those pretenders..."

Early in the year it was Texas, Arky and Ole Miss top three, all three had disappointing stretches, all three still have mosy of the talent that made them top five teams to start the year, and all three are still playing.

That’s right. All three are loaded with talent, all three are still in the show, and it’s crunch time.

The Yanks strike back.

U Conn beats Stanford 13-12 to take a 1-0 lead in the series. :uconn:

And another rough outing for West Coast baseball—Auburn takes down mighty Oregon State 7-5 to go up 1-0 in the series.

Doubleday may have invented the game in Upstate New York*, but the weather strongly favors the dominance of Sun Belt programs…

* some nit-picky historians might say that Doubleday merely codified and standardized the rules of a game that was later widely popularized at Civil War soldiers camps. Scones and kidney pie eaters, and people who put milk in their tea, would say it’s merely a crude, and rather barbaric, adaptation of cricket.+ :D

+ the put-milk-in-tea crowd might also say that this ghastly American invention—the Internet—has wreaked havoc upon their language. :D:D

Arkansas draws 1st blood. 1-0 over the Heels in the 4th. Lots of visiting fans at Chapel Hill today.

Now it's 2-0 pigs.

The Sooners were just too dang hot at the end of the year. They peaked at the perfect time.

But, whether or not they punched their ticket to Omaha, one constant still remains:
