BO tries to silence Wright?

if this man is to be believed first Bo handlers offeredwright 150K to STFU and then Bo asked him to not say anything until after the Nov 2008 election
"When sermons of Obama’s Chicago pastor, Jeremiah Wright, surfaced during the Iowa primaries, it threatened to derail Obama’s campaign. ABC aired one where Wright screamed, “******* America!” Edward Klein interviewed Wright, who told him Obama’s team tried to buy his silence.

‘Man, the media ate me alive,” Wright told me when we met in his office at Chicago’s Kwame Nkrumah Academy. “After the media went ballistic on me, I received an e-mail offering me money not to preach at all until the November presidential election.”
Who sent the e-mail?” I asked Wright.

“It was from one of Barack’s closest friends.”

“He offered you money?”

“Not directly,” Wright said. “He sent the offer to one of the members of the church, who sent it to me.”

“How much money did he offer you?”

“One hundred and fifty thousand dollars,” Wright said.

“Did Obama himself ever make an effort to see you?”

“Yes,” Wright said. “Barack said he wanted to meet me in secret, in a secure place. And I said, ‘You’re used to coming to my home, you’ve been here countless times, so what’s wrong with coming to my home?’ So we met in the living room of the parsonage of Trinity United Church of Christ, at South Pleasant Avenue right off 95th Street, just Barack and me. I don’t know if he had a wire on him. His security was outside somewhere.

“And one of the first things Barack said was, ‘I really wish you wouldn’t do any more public speaking until after the November election.’ He knew I had some speaking engagements lined up, and he said, ‘I wish you wouldn’t speak. It’s gonna hurt the campaign if you do that.’

“And what did you say?” I asked. “I said, ‘I don’t see it that way. And anyway, how am I supposed to support my family?’ And he said, ‘Well, I wish you wouldn’t speak in public. The press is gonna eat you alive.’

This was in Sat NYPost paper. so far no one. not Wright nor Bo has refuted it
IIRC Wright went to Ghana during the campaign. convenient no?

I think this is at least as newworthy as over 5,000 words the WaPo used on a 47 y o unsubstaniated story on Romney's HS time.
It would be nice of both candidates got treated somewhat the same by the media
Will the MSM cover this?

What You Need To Know About Ed Klein, Author Of New Book Smearing Obama

By Adam Peck on May 12, 2012 at 7:05 pm

Former journalist Edward Klein
The New York Post yesterday published the first excerpts from an upcoming biography on President Obama by Edward Klein, “The Amateur.”

In the Post’s excerpt, Klein alleges that former President Clinton called President Obama an “amateur” and desperately tried to convince Hillary to resign as Secretary of State and challenge Obama in the Democratic primaries this year. (The Clintons swiftly and forcefully denied the claims.) The article was prominently featured on the Drudge Report.

Although you wouldn’t know it from reading the New York Post, the Drudge Report or other popular right-wing outlets, Klein is a discredited author with a history of presenting falsehoods as fact. Here’s what you need to know about Edward Klein:

1. Klein’s last book, which was self-published, suggests Obama was born on foreign soil and is a practicing Mulism. Klein’s 2010 work The Obama Identity: A Novel (Or Is It?), co-authored with a former Republican congressman, is a compendium of Obama conspiracy theories. He had to self-publish the book.

2. Klein promoted a shameful conspiracy theory that Bill Clinton raped Hillary. In his 2005 book, Klein promoted an anonymous, hateful allegation supposedly made by two people who “claim” to have spoken with Bill Clinton about the circumstances surrounding the birth of the Clintons’ daughter Chelsea.

3. Klein repeatedly questioned Hillary Clinton’s sexual orientation. He has similarly disparaged Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, Jackie Kennedy and Katie Couric in previous works, leading the Washington Post to comment that Klein “has made a second career of leaving knuckle prints on famous women.”

4. Klein has a history of publishing demonstrably false allegations about Obama as fact. In a 2010 entry in The Huffington Post, Klein detailed President Obama’s “humiliation” of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netenyahu, claiming that sources told him of Obama leaving during a meeting with Netenyahu to have dinner with Michelle and their two daughters. One phone call would have revealed that to be impossible, since Michelle, Sasha and Malia were all in New York City at the time.

5. Klein’s book is being published by Regnery, a far-right imprint specializing in the promotion of conservative talking points. He was rejected by every respectable publishing house. In an interview, Klein claimed his difficulty locating a publisher was because Barack Obama was an “untouchable” subject. Yet several other books on the same subject, like Jodi Kantor’s The Obamas, set off a bidding war between the major New York publishers.

6. Even conservative critics view Klein as disreputable. Kathleen Parker, writing for the Tribune’s network of newspapers, described Klein’s 2005 book as “prurient tabloiding,” while New York Post columnist John Podhoretz said it was “one of the most sordid volumes I’ve ever waded through.” Peggy Noonan’s Wall Street Journal review said it was “poorly written, poorly thought, poorly sourced and full of the kind of loaded language that is appropriate to a polemic but not an investigative work.”

The nation’s top book reviews have all panned Klein and his work. The Boston Globe called him “an author devoid of credibility,” the New York Times described him as “smarmy and sleazy,” The Los Angeles Times called his work “bio-porn,” and the Tucson Citizen referred to it as “the literary equivalent of a backed up-septic tank.” (It got a grade of “F”).

Thanks Satchel. I'm glad you're always looking out for the truth.

The difference here is that this NYPost story is a straight up interview; not a conspirational book. If the esteemed Rev. Wright did not make those statements, Klein would be sued.

Regardless of the attacks by Klein - few of which I believe for what it's worth - this interview is extremely telling and newsworthy. Of course it takes some peripheral news entity to report something that the MSM would have blasted 24/7 had the role players been switched.

The only info one can get on this story is from Obama hating right wing sources/ blogs... I'd prefer the media give us more information about Romney's bank accounts in the Caymans and Switzerland. We know a lot about Obama and Wright. Don't you want to know more about the first non Christian to be the GOP standard bearer?

Unlike you, I'm a friend to all religions, Islam included. I think it only fair that we learn at least as much about Romey's religion as we learned about BHO's Don't you?

Satch, did I mention that I have any intolerance for Islam, Mormonism, Judaism, Hinduism, etc?

I get it, because I'm a Christian and conservatively aligned, I must be. How cutely bigoted of you.

Mike Huckabee had a good take on that. He decided that if he has something controversial to answer to in the future, he'll just say, "Oh, I was being a Democrat that week." No more questions needed.

perhaps we should wait. it has only been 3 days since this appreared in a NY newpaper.

surely if it isn't true Wright or BO will deny it.
why I bet Bo and his minions are working on a spin on it now.

Seriously if this isn't true how do you think somebosy, even a Bo minion would have refuted it by now?

And if Wright really didn't get offered a 150K from a Bo minion why wouldn't he refute it?he certainly isn't shy about speaking up

Any BO supporter, how long should we wait for a denail? and if one isn't forthcoming. by say Wed then I am sure the MSM will divert some of the dirt diggers they had working on Palin and now Romney to get the real story here

I am far more interested in why Oprah and Michelle Obama hate each other (which is also linked on that page), as it has more direct impact on my life.

The wingnuts have maintained since 2009 that Jeremiah Wright hates Jews. If true, why would he spill his guts to a Jewish writer who hates both him and the President?

It's kinda tough when you've been a complete biased tool to say "No really guys, this time I'm being straight with you .. really ... take me seriously ... I took time to get my facts straight this time...

God I hope to be there (visiting) in Fox News Heaven when all the right wingers get to see Barak Obama's transcript from Occidental College, get the real skinny on Rev. Wright and find out what Donald Trump was talking about when he came up with "interesting" information on Obama's place of birth.

^^^ I have to say that it would be nice if one of the typical left wing outlets investigated their own or one of the right wing outlets did the same. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem like how the world works these days.

Has Obama systematically gone through all the consultants with federal contracts and made sure thhe contributed to his reelection campaign? Maybe he needs to pull out the Nixon book to be the real Nixon. I hope the media sniffs it out before systematic intimidation and demands for big campaign contributions to the governor's political campaign is just considered part of the cost of doing business if you want a state appointment? You remember when Bush took some heat US attorney's who wouldn't prosecute political opponents were fired? You think this stuff never happened before.
