Our rogue President will reportedly go it alone on immigration "reform". Announcing his plans in a televised speech tomorrow night.

So much for trying to work with Congress. We'll see what the Republican response will be. Supposedly they've ruled out shutting down the government and trying to impeach him.

The ironic thing about his action is that it will probably hurt young, black males more than any other group in the long run.
 
If all what is being reported happens, then it is a slap to the face to me and others in my situation. My wife is not from the US and we had to go the LEGAL way to obtain her right to stay here. While she is still not a US citizen, she is ready to take the test and finish this process.

I think I will run down to the local immigration office and ask for a refund if all this happens. Why should my wife have to pay for legal residency when others might not have to?
 
This is a constitutional crisis. Only 38% of the people want him to do this. This guy is f$%king out of control. Can you imagine if our next President decides to tell businesses that they don't have to pay corporate taxes? BHO could do 1,000 executive orders. What he can't do is make new laws or decide not to enforce laws. I started a topic about him in 2009 that this :resident is trying to become a dictator. The same morons defended him then and are just dumb enough to defend him now. He even said himself many times on video that he can't do what he's about to tomorrow.

I don't give a damn if this will hurt people politically, but he has to be stood up too. IMPEACH HIM NOW! I don't care if it makes the Republicans look bad. It's time they make decisions that's best for our country to insure no other president does this again. But I think this last midterm election was a message to stop Obama at all cost. It's scary that we are allowing one man to make all of our decisions for our country. I really do fear what is coming of our country. It's time to stand up to the bully.
 
Oh and the Dems are trying to compare Reagan and the first Bush Executives orders with what Obama is doing tomorrow. There is a huge difference. Executive Orders are not suppose to make laws, change laws, or ignore laws. This is exactly what Obama is doing. What executive orders are suppose to do under the Constitution is to expand or clear of the laws that are passed by congress. Both Reagan and Bush expanded the law that wasn't covered in the original documents. No President has ever made a law or refuse to follow a law until this President.
 
Very disturbing. Even Obama stated that the Presidency does not have the Constitutional authority to do what he plans to do now. He is paving the way for future tyrants.
 
The recourse should be impeachment. I realize this would be a short term problem for the country, the long term implications of any President willfully violation the constitution are very dangerous. Even Obama is on record via video more than 22 times stating it would be a violation of law.

On the bright side, Jimmy Carter is smiling since he can really start counting on not being the worst President ever.
 
He is sprinkling in some common sense ideas that everyone could agree on which media will use to portray the GOP as not willing to compromise.
I wonder if he will also explain how many new gov't employees he will hire to administer this and what will happen when the illegals do not comply? Or what safeguards will be in place to prevent fake docs from being accepted.

He seems to be pissed at America for not going along with his agenda in transforming it in a way that the people lose their power (like in other countries). So he's going kamikaze these last two years. So what's happening now is we have a dictator that will test the boundaries until the people and our leaders in Congress stands up to this Bully. This POS will negotiate with Iran but not with the GOP. Just tells you what we're dealing with here.
 
They don't even know the cost of this executive order or they do but don't want to tell all the "stupid people."
 
The principal people responsible for this disaster are the citizens who have lured the wretched of the earth to our country by giving them jobs. They are going to be let off the hook for their crimes too.

I've been telling people for a few decades that this place is over and this does is speed up the rate at which we circle the drain.

He is not a Kenyan or a muslim or a communist; he is an Ivy League elitist who knows what is best for us folks here in flyover country who cling to our guns and our religions.
 
John Boehner, Summer 2013, after the Senate overwhelmingly passed legislation that was similar (but more conservative) than what Obama was proposing tonight:
"I issued a statement that I thought was pretty clear, but apparently some haven’t gotten the message: the House is not going to take up and vote on whatever the Senate passes. We’re going to do our own bill."

Crickets still chirp while the House still sits on it.

I don't like all the parts of Obama's plan, but the House needs to stop dragging its feet. These guys in a perpetual state of reelection campaigning with an 80 percent incumbency rate choose to sit on their hands until Obama isn't President any longer. Getting Hillary in there next won't be much better.
 
As Charles Krauthammer said; if Obama really wanted to do this, why didn't he do it when he had the House and the Senate? He didn't do it then because he knows the American people don't want it and it might have hurt his reelection chances. He didn't do it before the midterms because it might have hurt Dems chances of getting reelected. He's doing it now because he's a lame duck and doesn't give a **** about Clinton's chances in '16.
 
The point is not whether he has common sense actions in his EO. The point is he is sworn to uphold the constitution and the laws established by Congress. He openly broke the law in a political move.

Why did he not get this done when he held both the House and Senate? 2012 elections. Why did he not do this EO in October? November elections.

A majority of Americans want reform, but only 38% wanted him to act alone. He is a rogue ideologue who does not believe the American people can think or act for themselves.

Obama will extend the DACA(deferred action for childhood arrival) program to minors who arrived before instead of 2007 which was the cut off earlier this year and lift the requirement that the applicant be under 31 to be eligible.

What is BOs definition of minor?
 
The constitution was designed to take the power of authority and decisions out of the hands of one person. Save a very limited range of decisions.
 
The framers of the Constitution set up a series of checks and balances, but they made it really hard to boot a President out of office. Wen you have an ego maniac like BO, that thinks he knows what's best for the country, they can do some damage with little chance of losing office.

it seems to me that some of the other democracies have a better handle on booting a President or Prime Minister that we do: Great Britain, Israel, etc.
 
Yeah in reality we got one man's opinion on what direction this country should go and 300 to 400 million people have no say so. Scary when we have a dictator. Never thought we would see that in our lifetime. What's even more scary is out of our US population there are some cheering him on.

Can you imagine if our next president decided to not force businesses to pay the corporate tax because he feels it will allow those businesses to grow. The outrage from the Libs would be epic. That's the equivalency of what BHO just did. I'm ready for him to worry about the people of the US instead of the people in Mexico and Africa.

If histrionics weren't the strategy du jur of the far Right which has gained control of the Republican Party there may be more room for compromise.

The facts are that none of these rules are permanent. The Obama Admin can't make then permanent. They are process and procedure changes which the Executive Branch has the power to execute. The next President could easily reverse these procedures.

Congress still has the power to codify or correct the procedural changes through legislation.
 
Dems and libs aren't even aware that we have a constitution.

Hu_Fan makes a good point about Reagan and Clinton learning to compromise. You libs name me 1 thing Obama has compromised on in 6 years. Just 1 tiny little thing.
