BO, on Putin

It isn't that it is such a horrible insult and he did try to soften it but for pete's sake this is one world leader saying something that isn't favorable about another world leader
and this is from the ONE who said he would heal all our relations with the world.
This is the one who even sent a " reset' button to Russia I guess signaling a new improved beginning
although as that turned out BO and his people botched that up big time as well.

BO may think that about Putin and for sure Putin has jerked BO's chain
. Bo seems to respond in petty ways to being snubed or criticized or bested.
 
I am no fan of Obama but please folks, this is vladimir putin we are talking about. HE's a thug who is dismantling what little in the way of democratic tendencies exist in russia.

journalists there get murdered and friends of vlad get rich. very rich.

ANd they hold on to Snowden in spite of our entreaties? **** Putin and his sorry police state.

BO has shown several times how petty and childish he can be against those he thinks have insulted him.
BO demeaned the office of the Pesidency and revealed one of his weaknesses.
I am sure Putin laughed.

BO could have just snubbed Putin and let it go, as if Putin is nothing to him.
 
Military spending has gone down as a percentage of GDP, but we still outspend the second closest country by 5 or 6 times. Our spending is about the same as countries 2-12 combined. I'm worried if we can't outspend the second closest country by 3 times and still have the best military in the world by far.
 
I take your point but I disagree that going into Iraq and Afghanistan but not changing the culture there weakened us with the non Muslim world.
or even with the Muslim world. kahdaffi didn't look at the USA as weak after we went into Iraq did he?

What weakens us is when we 'lead from behind" ALL the time
and when we appear to back down which we have done lately.
I think our handling of Benghazi sent a negative signal .
Regarding Putin, yes he is a everything everyone has said he is. Think he is any worse than Stalin?
Bo just can't rein in his old style Chicago tactics. I wonder if he feels he has scored when he says things like that.

Forget it. Our government has digressed so far into fiscal irresponsibility it is incapable of correction. It is no longer possible within the existing framework to cut budgets. The system is self perpetuating and fed by the unilateral drive to fill my pocket.
Having a relative in the government on a contract awarding committee has revealed to me that not only do they never select the bidder demonstrating the best specs, it is rarely the lowest cost but instead is the one most identified by 'minority' composition or a personal favorite of someone in authority. Trust me here these are not ole level contracts. My friend has become very exasperated with the whole process to the point of acquiescence.

that article looks like it was from 2009 so I tried to get more current info
It looks like part D has some in under budget every year reported so far except the first.
this from politifact pronounces it came in from 28% to 40% under budget( depending on how it is calculated in 2010The Link

and THIS article from Forbes from 4 days ago sees Part D more favorably that the one from 2009The Link

The national Bureau of Economic Research ( a think tank of many Nobel econs) points out that Part D has given low income seniors greater access to drugs
and for every $1.00 spent on part D saves $2.00 in Medicare since it is usually cheaper to treat a condition with drugs especially early on


As a conservative I am all for smaller government and spending less. This is one case where spending on the programs as intended saves lives and cuts spending on another programs

Can anyone name another government program that has come in UNDER budget?

Can you really compare actual results with the mess obamacare has so far shown to be?
2.The Part D system runs on a free enterprise model does the Dem's national health care plan? NO

So here is a plan that has come in under budget while saving people money, gets drugs to lower income people who need them , saves money on medicare, is the most efficient gov't program EVER

Can you really that to the national health care plan called obamacare
 
The bottom line is that the government is paying more for drugs than they should because of political connections. If you think part D has been under budget, imagine how much more under budget it could be if they weren't overpaying.

of course part D could be and should be run better but as far as gov't programs go it performs quite well.
 
We've entered bizarro world when you have candidates and/or party members celebrating their support from Putin and North Korea. Republicans have truly lost their minds.
