OMG! How many times have I heard Kathy say how much she disliked Knoxville! Of course, it might be due to getting whupped by the Lady Vols on a regular basis (of course we did get 'em four years in a row not too long ago).

This is just tooooo ironic! LOL!

Well, we got of theirs and now they got one of ours.

Will she be helping with coaching, anyone know what a basketball operations director does? And will she be on the bench with the Lady Vols to Austin next season? At least she will be able to tell them all the best places to eat.

I think it's more of an administrative / management type position. I believe they have a lot of contact with the team and coaches, etc, but they don't do any actual coaching.

Her job will be very much like Cathy MacDonald's is at Texas...

I wish her well, am surprised to see her leave Texas....she's a Texas girl through and through.....but hey, ya gotta do what ya gotta do....

ran into her last summer at coaching school and that is exactly what she said she wanted to do - get into the administrative side of the business - so what a great opportunity - could lead to bigger things down the line

Director of basketball operations generally does all the work behind the scenes to make the season come together. This would include scheduling campus facilities, supplies, hotels, meals, transportation, etc, In short all the things needed for the season that don't directly involve coaching. This is Cathy McDonald's job at UT.
