Binders full of Women

If he was black, YOU'D be screwed because you wouldn't have **** to ***** about because both candidates would be untouchable in your world. You like to lol and point fingers at "the other side" going as far as to compare to aggy "cult". You little man, epitomize cult like zombie status for any and everything black. I'm sure you're a bowl of cheer at the workplace (if applicable). I'd be a rich man if I placed wagers on your ratio of gratuity for black women vs white men. You're so 1962

I've never thought of Roger as prejudiced toward anything not black, but I do think he might be a little man.

The Hefner, Most Interesting Man, and Clinton pictures are funny as hell.

I didn't think Mitt handled the question well at all. He basically rambled about his quasi-affirmative action policy and gender tokenism in his cabinet in Massachusetts (which I don’t think impresses the average woman anyway, and I think most conservatives (myself included) roll their eyes when they hear politicians do this), which is how he stumbled onto the “binders” comment – all in an effort to avoid addressing the girl’s question, which had to do with equal pay for equal work.

Of course, that question was right in Obama’s wheelhouse, because his first act as President was to sign the Lilly Ledbetter Act, and frankly, the GOP shouldn't have fought it. The bill was demonized so viciously as part of some radical feminist agenda that I read the bill expecting to see a bunch of federal money forcing lesbianism on little kids or opening free abortion clinics in elementary schools. Instead, I saw a pretty straightforward 3-page bill that simply extends a woman’s time to file her Equal Pay Act claim based on each discriminatory paycheck rather than on when the company first intended to discriminate (which an employee would usually have no way of knowing and no reason to even suspect unless she was a nosy ***** who sneaked around trying to figure out how much each man in the workplace was getting paid). That was the big boogeyman that was the Lilly Ledbetter Act. It had nothing to do with feminism or any hot-button issue. Hell, a man could just as easily be filing an Equal Pay claim. Furthermore, it didn’t significantly change anybody’s substantive rights under the Act. It was basically procedural in nature.

Romney could have stolen Obama’s thunder on the issue by citing the Act as an area of agreement, making a pitch about appointing women to his cabinet (including the EEOC) and to the federal courts, and letting it go. It would have made him look like a pragmatic, sensible guy, and he wouldn’t have looked like a patronizing dumbass. Besides, they’re never going to get the Act repealed anyway.

At the final debate, Mitt will come out in blackface, do an astonishingly good rendition of Mammy, and win the election because the American public is so ******* stupid they'll believe any lie the right can conjure up.

Romney does these stupid things. Sesame Street and now this Binder thing. However, people who use the term "internet meme" and have the time to make facebook pages and photoshop pictures about it (a lot of millennials) weren't voting for Romney anyways.

But the more stupid thing is that women's issues are economic issues...and that's not my term, that's the democrats making that claim. And Obama's record on the economy the past four years has been atrocious. Obama doesn't know how to run anything, doesn't know how to work with anyone. All the photoshopping and memes in the world ain't gonna hide that.

Perhaps you missed it, but Romney completely side-stepped the question regarding his stance on equal pay for women (such as whether he was in favor of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay act, which Ryan opposed). Instead of answering that particulary query, he went off on a tangent on being an equal-opportunity employer when governor of Massachussets. Very nice and fine, but it's a different issue than what was being asked. In my office, we refer to that as "giving a blue answer to a green question."

Now, back to the funny stuff: hundreds of reviews at Amazon.com for the Avery Durable View Binder with 2 Inch EZ-Turn Ring:

I fail to see this as anything more than a gaffe while speaking. Obama does it, Romney does it, we all do it. I think he was saying "binders full of resumes" but I guess that is a slap to women per liberals.

This is devastating to Romney. About the only thing that could neutralize it would be if the Obama admin had received binders of Muslims from a congressman for possible openings in the administration

I know a few people out of work right now, both men and women. I currently have a sales position open and none are qualified simply because they do not have sales experience needed for the position. I would think moving from private sector to state government position is totally different skill set. Just my opinion though.

As to being patronizing, I missed that. I think all political candidates come across as patronizing as they speak about individual groups of people.

So I remain unconvinced that this is an issue. My wife and other female friends did not view it negatively, but did laugh at how it came across. Not anything that changes their vote for either candidate.

Really? Seriously?
You supporters think What Romeny said is more important that FACTS?

Really?
Romney pays women who work for him more than BO pays.
( Actually romney pays all his people better than BO )

I am betting women are smarter than any doofus who would think trying to make an issue out of what Gov. Romney said.

Edit to add
Romney as a Repub Govenor had more women in his cabinet back then than any other state in the union ibcluding any state with a Dem Gov.
according to a State U of NY albany study

AND that % from back then is HIGHER than any Dem Gov today and higher a % than BO's cabinet

but Supporters keep on trying to make any issue out of what Romney said in the debate.

At least I asked.
Showing self-awareness.
Is portraying feminsists as crying babies too mean?
You didnt actually answer

Self-awareness? Is this like when someone says "I'm not trying to be mean but...." then says something mean. Just because you prefaced that you were about to be mean doesn't mean you weren't mean and suffer the ramifications of said actions.

I just thought the hypocrisy was interesting given your broad brush statement on the other thread.

I read a statistic last week that 80% of all women consider themselves "feminists".

How odd that yor are on the opposite side of the NY Times on this (Apr 2015)

"82 percent of Americans don’t consider themselves feminists, poll shows"
" ....... In a culture where feminism seems to be gaining momentum, a new poll appears to contradict that notion, showing that only 18 percent of Americans consider themselves feminists. .....""
