The more informative point of this episode is that it reveals the GOP's plan to attack Michelle Obama. Expect to hear the words 'angry' and 'militant' repeated many more times between now and November.

While I agree that he should have more sense, what is kind of lost in all of this furor is the fact that O'Reilly was actually defending Michelle Obama in own way.

this seems like a big stretch...i have heard the term over and over and never associated it as being racist except when it explicitly referred to lynching blacks.

reminds me of the time i said "boy" to my black friend/chef at a restaurant i worked at. he looked at me shocked and then i realized i had offended him....he knew me well enough to know i wasn't racist and i had to have him explain how he took it that way.

When I think of the word "Lynch", I think of two things-

1) The guys I know with the last name "Lynch".

2) Clint Eastwood movies (doesn't "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" have a lynchin' scene?)

So either the Obamas (and they're supporters) don't like my friends or they don't like Clint Eastwood. Either way, I have a hard time supporting someone that doesn't like either (1) or (2)... and if they don't like both?...

maybe considering bill o was defending mrs. obama and referring to others that were unfairly criticising her, i don't really see what the big deal is. im guessing his choice of words were insensitive for those out there that like to race bait, etc. I guess I should feel guilty for the grossly cruel actions of many during our racial history. perhaps we should pay reparations. perhaps i should feel guilty for the atrocities of all mankind for the last 1000 years or maybe the last 5000 years. maybe if we feel guilty long enough, we can eradicate all the evil regimes that currently exist and love in a beautiful utopia where the poor are treated as invalids and cared for and the intellegencia create policy so that we can have equality for all mankind.

i mean good lord people, a lynch mob is a term used globally to describe a mob coming to get you and hang you, it is a common term that deals nothing about race, i realize that people like to associate it because many black people were lynched in the past but it applies to any mob going after anybody.....

If the other media members were suspended or fired for this kind of offense so should O'Reilly He should at least be suspended, if not fired outright.

I believe bush thinks that hanging a noose in a southern town in a black community is insensitive, i do not think bush was referencing nooses that are hung on halloween. bush is also pandering to a class of people.
