Listen, if a Longhorn ever wins this joke again, I'm sure it will be neat and I will be happy about it. But, I won't suddenly think the NY Atletic Club, its voters, and the fact that sports writers are allowed to vote, suddenly has credibility.

There can be close races, but as pointed out, 2005 came down to a supposedly poor VY performance against A&M. Well, they won, and he came back to have critical plays that helped in the victree. That doesn't show he was the most outstanding player who epitomized great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work? Bush gets 2000 yards against UCLA that same day, and that is what it came down to. Please.

Well I can’t disagree, Vince’s game against the Aggies coupled with Bush’s stellar performance against Fresno State — in which he had that SportsCenter highlight, stop + change of direction run — is why he won and Vince didn’t.

The good news is that the snub probably had plenty to do with our winning the game on January 4, 2006.
