BIG 12 vs SEC

Hu Fan is close to the target-at least a large part of it. There is also unspoken resentment of a conference with 4 teams in one state.

TexasBaby is correct regarding Big 12 Offenses being superior to SEC offenses, and it should be trumpeted that, right now, 10 of the top 21 QBs in Div 1 are from one conference: THE BIG 12. That is staggering, but you won't hear it on sEcSPN. Regarding supposed superior defenses in the SEC, I don't buy it. If you actually watch their games, their offenses are by and large plain vanilla, easy to defend. Not true of the Big 12.

The SEC has more games on TV and is more visible. They are promoted much more heavily. They have been around longer and have had some recent success. It is not a mystery.

Now that being said, the Big 12 is as deep and talented this year as it has ever been. The big games have yet to be played and I am sure that once October and November get here we will be watching marquee matchup after another and the talking heads will start talking more about the Big 12. I just hope that when a Big 12 team loses to another Big 12 team they don't drop them significantly lower than an SEC team in a similar situation. That will be the bias I do not want to see.

Big 12 QB's are also a big story that I think is going to start getting told on a national level this week. Daniel, Bradford, McCoy, Harrell are all on undefeated teams in the top 10 right now. They all have good stats and a few of them are eye popping.

Mizz has a bye week then plays Nebraska and Ok St. before playing Texas.

OU plays TCU and Baylor before playing Texas.

Texas plays Arky and Colo before playing OU.

Tech has a bye week before playing K-state, Nebraska, and A&M....then goes to Kansas and then hosts Texas.

Mizz could keeping winning for 3 weeks, Tech for 4 weeks, OU or Texas for 3 weeks. Teams in the SEC will lose during this time and the Big 12 will look better and better in comparison. Their matchups will be on the bigger stage at that point. Once those matchups are on I will watch them over any matchup out there, including key SEC games. I think many others will as well.
