Big 12 teams still in the tourney

OSU vs LSU - don't think OSU has the horses to outscore LSU. I'm torn about this one - LSU and Big Syl and I guess, Van too, are one of my favorite (non Texas) teams/player/coach. Last year when LSU played in Austin, I bought a purple shirt and mardi gras beads and cheered my head off for them. I want to support my Big 12 sisters, but my heart belongs to LSU in this game.

A&M vs Duke - there's no question that A&M can win this game and I think they will. I think they will have trouble with Black on the inside, but I think A&M's "in your face" defense will rattle Duke and I think A&M can win. I'm pulling for them in this game!

What do the rest of you think about these games?

My money is on A&M...

...and considering the value of a dollar these days that statement doesn't taste as bad as I thought it would.

I think A&M will win, but wouldn't be surprised to see Duke win. Wouldn't even be surprised to see Duke blow them out. I definitely expect LSU to beat OSU; I think LSU got a wake-up call vs. Marist and will come to play and take advantage of situations that open up if/when OSU decides to throw everything at Sylvia and Chaney.

The Big 12 is a good league. It's a league full of pretty good teams. There are no elite teams, though. We will be in a couple of years, and it will be interesting to see the state of the league then. Will the top teams get better? Will the depth get even stronger? Will one of the top teams drop off?

I think we see Baylor get better in a couple of years after dropping off a little bit this next year (playing somewhere between the level that they started at this year and the level they ended)

I expect Oklahoma to be a little bit better next year, resembling their 2005-2006 team. When the Paris twins leave, they will struggle, but I don't think they will fall too far.

A&M has hit their peak. They will drop off a little bit next year but remain a top 25 national program.

Oklahoma State...apparently the Farrah Fawcett can be converted into a short male haircut.

I'm going to pick LSU and Duke for the wins. Duke players were Coach G's recruits and would like to see them spank the Ags.

I think LSU has too many horses for OSU to keep up with. I would love to see Big Syl win a national title. I'm not sure that Riley will get enough help to beat LSU. If Hardeman is hitting her 3s, though, and Riley is Riley, the Cowgirls have a chance.

A&M and Duke. I'm torn a bit here. I would like to see Duke win because they are Coach G's former players but I'm rooting for the Aggies because they represent the Big 12. Was Abby playing point for Duke in the last game? Not the best way to get her open for shots. And I'm not sure if she will be able to handle the Aggies' pressure if she is the primary ballhandler. The one obvious matchup that favors Duke is at the center position although Micheaux has been a pleasant surprise to me with her play. Can Duke shut down Gant and Starks? They can do pretty much everything, hit the short jumper, make the three, drive and dish or finish.

Guess I will go with the Big 12 and root for an Aggie win although I hope Duke plays well.

Chants??

OK, Yeah, I want LSU to STOMP on 'Roughneck Riley' and the rest of them......I am still a little irritated at her.

And, sorry, just can't bring myself to root for Aggy/Maggy whatever.

GO Duke, Go LSU..............
