Somehow, someway, TCU finds itself on top. Not only, that, but their remaining conference schedule consists of OU and KU. They could end up on top when it's all said and done. TCU does have an out-of-conference weekend series coming up against a very solid Florida State team, a team that has spent much of the year, thus far, in the Top 25. A series win by TCU there would boost their Regional resume.

It's starting to shake up and separate the contenders (top 4--UT, Tech, Ok St, TCU), a second tier with an outside shot (OU and WV), and the ever-expanding cellar (Bay, Kan St, Kan). Giant series this coming weekend in us vs. Okla St. The next weekend will pit OU vs. TCU--that series could knock OU out of contention and go a long ways to determining whether TCU ends up on top for the regular season.

Ball's in the Poke's field. They're in the driver's seat. But watch out for a dangerous TCU squad, they just won't go away, and they mess things up for others. We just want to finish 3-4 games over 0.500 at this point. If we win out, we're 15-9. If we take 2 of 3 for our next 2 series, we're 13-11.

If the Horns can win 5 of 6 in conference (a huge if since they havent won a true road series all year) and if they dont fart around again and can win all their remaining mid week games, and if they can make a run in the Big XII tourney there is outside shot at regional host (given their high RPI and SOS). However, I fear last weekend just about guaranteed that the Horns will be on the road come June as a two seed probably in some SEC team's regional. Honest to goodness I fully expect College Station. No one will be happy to see Texas on their two seed line but they will also see a team that is very beatable. If they cant get up to a top 16 then I would love for Texas to be two seed on the 9-11 regional seed (6-8 national seed) line where at least they wont be facing a Tennessee or Arkansas on the road.

I don't want us at a regional at Tennessee, Arkansas, Miami, or UCLA (UCLA is kryptonite to UT; everything about UCLA just "has our number"--in every sport). Everyone else, I think we can handle. Would love to see us draw Southern Miss or Louisville--if we don't get a regional.
