and not true.

I stole this from a friend and this is true.

"The day the democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009, it was actually January 3rd 2007 the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress.

The Democrat Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the falla...cy that everything is "Bush's Fault", think about this:

January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress. At the time:
The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
The Unemployment rate was 4.6%
George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB GROWTH Remember the day...

January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?

BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!
Unemployment... to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!

Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy.

Who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA,
and who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie?

OBAMA and the Democrat Congress

So when someone tries to blame Bush..
REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!"

Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party.

Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 &2011.

In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.
For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budgets.

Where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009.

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.

If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th."

If you could put that in a 5 second sound bite, you would have winner, the problem is that Obama has said it so many times and it has been repeated over and over on TV so many times that people just accept that it is Bush's fault.

Sad how people have stopped thinking for themselves and just believe everything that they hear from the so called news media.

Sadly I think that GWB was worn down by Jan 3, 2007, and he had little fight left in him. However, the country really needed him to fight like hell against Nancy, Barney, and Harry. Unfortunately and much like his dad, he had no more fight in him.

Fast forward to today. If Barack Obama says it, the MSM takes it as gospel. Lapdogs is all they are.

You may be right about Bush getting beaten down by everyone. This is an article from 2009 , really interesting proveable FACTS here
"Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly asked former White House adviser Karl Rove that question on Wednesday’s “O’Reilly Factor.”

“You left the Bush administration 15 months before the president did,” O’Reilly said to Rove. “While you were there at the end, was there any inkling, did you have any idea that the underpinnings of the economy were eroding so seriously?”

Rove responded, “Well, there was concern about it, particularly in the housing area, we were briefed as far back as 2001 about the problems with Fannie and Freddie; in fact, we moved aggressively in 2004 to regulate Fannie and Freddie, actually got a bill through the Senate Banking and Finance Committee only to have it filibustered by [Sen.] Chris Dodd.”

Rove said Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac “accelerated their imprudent behavior after we attempted to regulate them. They bought almost as much mortgage debt from 2005 through 2008” as they bought in their first 30 years of their existence.

and
'A Google search brings up the following Sept. 11, 2003 New York Times article, which shows the Bush administration was aware of potential lending problems and did try to do something about it:
'The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.

Under the plan, disclosed at a Congressional hearing today, a new agency would be created within the Treasury Department to assume supervision of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored companies that are the two largest players in the mortgage lending industry. '

Was it barney Frank who said there were no problems with frddie and fannie?
why yes yes it was
and Maxine Waters as well

It is 20/20 hindsight, unfortunately, but GWB should have used his bully pulpit to get something done when there was time. He should have been more powerful than Dodd.

There are so many tnings Bush did as POTUS i did not like but there were many good things too.

In the case of the housing problem he did try in speech after speech including the SOTU>
But think back to that time. things seemed prosperous and any time he did speak about reining in F & F you had people like maxine waters saying
“We do not have a crisis at Freddie Mac, and particularly Fannie Mae, under the outstanding leadership of Frank Raines.”

He did freeze interest rates in 2007. Too little too late

I think this just goes to show that not only was BHO incompetent as a President, but as a senator as well. He has no clue what he's doing and he's trying to continue doing this. With the decisions he makes h'se is either intentionally trying to destroy America or he's just incompetent. I refuse to believe he's batting for the other team and that he is just incompetent. He's way over his head and is by far the worst President we've ever had. That's saying something when we've had a Jimmy Carter as President.

So we have the worst spending Congress and Senate from 2007 through 2011 overlapping and paired with our worst President 2008 to present for two years and they have taken a dump on America's economy.

I35 you are right on the money, but the question is whether Mitt Romney has the skill to communicate that point when the media has a completely different message in mind. I'm afraid that he doesn't. Mitt will need to nominate a great communicator for his VP to help that situation somewhat.

All due respect to I35, he or she was not elected to lead this country. At what point should we expect leadership to start and pointing blame back 3.5 years to end?

Where do I defend Obama? Your imagination is providing you with the *** reducing laughter. I've never even said he was a good president.

It is amusing to see the cure for the blame game is more blame game. Get your mind around that for some real laughs.

Roma, your attempt to take the topic a different direction is in a way trying to defend or atleast trying to keep this discussion not about Prez O"blame"o. You would rather talk about millions of people on both sides blaming each other's party than an actual President doing it. Maybe he should try leading instead of blaming. Either you got leadership or you don't. O"blame"o doesn't. Sorry if that hurts your feelings.

Really, Murphy, that's all you could come up with? Just demonstrates the intellect -or lack thereof - of you and other blame-it-on-Bushers. But once again it proves that you can fool some of the people all of the time.

AB
"But once again it proves that you can fool some of the people all of the time. "

The only person some seems to fool is himself.

In regard to the cartoon, in all fairness, FDR blamed the economy on the previous administration as well - both in 1932 and 1936. However, the big distinction is that Obama claimed that he could fix the economy in his first term and that if he didn't, he should be a one-term President. He should never have made that statement.

Bush was double crossed by the democrats with whom he bargained. He should have known better. Don't give coke to a crack addict and don't give more taxes to the Dems.

Obama needs to man up, put his big boy pants on, and take responsibility for his total failure of a presidency. He will be remember as the biggest whiner in US history.
